Overall : 5 stars. Tushar's service ALONE was worth staying here.||||Room : We originally had a smaller room - Tushar upgraded us (for free) to a bigger room with two queen beds ! ||||Tip : If you're traveling with a ESA (like we were) - next time I'd go with a one king bed room - more walkable area all around (especially if you're with a pet).||||Pet : Pet friendly motel ! No extra charges so long as we kept the place clean, which we did.||||Breakfast : Due to CoVid, snacks and drinks are placed outside - but Tushar personally came every morning to check if we needed anything and even offered us some of his home-made milk tea after we professed our personal love for it. And he did this daily, for 3 days in a row.||||Property : Its been maintained really well. I have to say. Especially considering this isn't a chain - and we stayed at some chain hotels as part of the same trip (Quality Inn in Lone Pine). You can tell they've taken care to upgrade the property - from new paint/wallpaper to a bigger bathroom to modern dispensers pre-built into the wall of the bathrooms. ||||Both my partner and I were a little hesitant initially (didn't know what to expect) - but were more than pleasantly surprised with the maintenance of the overall property.||||Deck - There's a cute little patio and deck outside. We ended up having breakfast there whenever possible. The grass was perfect for our ESA - while the deck was where we'd sit, chill, talk/chat, read-a-book and generally relax.||||We actually wanted to stay here again on our way back - but it was all booked out. Just to give you a sense of its popularity. ||||TLDR : Its an unassuming, low-key place - but definitely worth the stay (basically it seems to be a...
Read moreWe stayed for one night last week as it was the only place with a vacancy at a good rate (we were in town during the mule parade, unbeknownst to us!). Tushar, the owner, was super friendly and helpful. We were given room 14 and it was very clean and well-kept. My husband woke up around 5 am to a little bug on his pillow, at which point he turned on the light and proceeded to find 4 more just like it on the clean white sheets. They turned out to be bed bugs in their second larvae stage. We confirmed with our friend back home that owns a pest control service and he advised us what to do to prevent them spreading to our luggage and home. We showed Tushar and he told us about some group before us bringing their own bedding and how he had the place sprayed right after they left. That's great, but you need to have it sprayed every 5-7 days. He refunded us 50% of our one night stay, which in hindsight we should have probably received a full refund given that we have had to spend money to prevent the bed bugs from spreading and infesting our home. I give this place 5 stars for the friendly and accommodating management, and for the fact that the place is clearly well taken care of (clean bathrooms, crisp white sheets, etc.) - other than it needing to replace its mattresses and really hunker down on eliminating the bed...
Read moreWe were looking for a place in Big Pine and pulled up all the reviews and found the Starlight motel. So glad we did. This is an awesome place to stay in a great location near the end of town.
The host is phenomenal out of all the hotels and motels I’ve stayed. He provided the best service. Our room wasn’t completely ready so he popped us on the BBQ deck and gave us a couple of beers with a food basket while the room was finished up. He was always there when we needed him and always making sure the grounds look the best.
The rooms were spacious with plenty of room to bring in your bags and not feel crowded in the room. Everything was really clean and everything worked noteworthy, but walls are made of bricks and so you cannot hear your neighbors the rooms are incredibly quiet however, along with the brick walls, you might have to go outside to make a cell phone call.
If you’re in the Big Pine area this is the best hotel to stay at highly recommended wouldn’t stay anywhere else.
Stopped here again and had a long chat with the owner and he reminded me about why I was there, good fishing. He has a Fish cleaning station on the backside which I’ve used multiple times. This is a great base camp to the Owens river Owens Canal, and big pine creek as well as lake in...
