Just as Brenlin said in an earlier post... the same thing happened to me. I am a tour guide. In Sept 2015 I was working a group of 42 people in from Belgium. We had a reservation booked for well over 9 months for a 1 night stay over Labor Day weekend. We got to the hotel tired and ready for bed at 10pm and were told that our reservations had been cancelled. Some story that the computer cancelled it out. I was beside myself. The tourists had been in the bus all day, driving up from the Grand Canyon. My company had provided all the information to the hotel and to the point person of A&B Management, owner of this and other hotels. Everything was in order. Well in advance. Bottom line, it was Labor Day weekend and they just wanted to sell the 24 rooms at a higher rate than what had been contracted for with us 9 months earlier. They could care less. They take no responsibility and blame the client/customer. The humiliation and the total indifference and false statements on the part of A&B Management (and the manager of the hotel) is resounding. Beware of A&B Managment - owners of this property. They are located in California and take absolutely no responsibility. To them, it is the client's fault. My company had to absorb over $1300 of additional expenses to get the group into another hotel (200 miles away another 3 hour bus ride...arriving at 3AM) and pay extra for each of the 24 rooms, extra for breakfast for 42 people the next morning in addition to having to forfeit money that had been prepaid for breakfast at a restaurant in Blanding. Since last Sept. the managers of my tour company have tried in vain to get reimbursement let alone an apology from A&B for this disaster. Absolutely nothing. They don't care at all and apparently the managers of their hotels are doing this - whether on their own or as a directive from "corporate" . A&B has had several personnel changes as well as corporate affiliations over the past 3-4 years. I've brought groups to this property in Blanding for well over 10 years - before A&B owned it. Now this hotel is a Rodeway Inn. Last year they were Quality Inn. Before that they were called Blue Mountain Inn, and another affiliation before that. Possibly A&B keeps changing because they don't pay their bills under one hotel name and to avoid law suits, they dissolve that relationship and start over under a different name and franchise. PERSONAL OPINION: DO NOT EXPECT ANYTHING FAIR, REASONABLE OR TRUSTWORTHY FROM THIS HOTEL AND THEIR PARENT-OWNER ORGANIZATION - A&B HOTELS...
Read moreMy experience with Rodeway Inn and Suites:
My family and I stayed at Rodeway Inn & Suites last Saturday night on our way to the Arches. We were tired of traveling and anxious to find a good place to sleep. The staff was kind, respectful, and knowledgable. We slept, woke up the next morning and left blanding far behind. It wasn't until a day later that I discovered that my wallet was no longer in my backpack. Thinking that I had left in a pair of pants or put it in my duffle, I didn't panic. The next day though, when it still wasn't appearing, the panic set it. I went through everything I owned and finally thought to call the hotel. The mangar, Henry, immediately confirmed that they had found a wallet in our room. He said that he and the general manager, Vana, had been emailing and calling (my dad gave her a business number) us trying to catch us before we caught a flight out of Denver. They kept my wallet in the GM's office safe with a rubber band around it. When they found out that I was three hours away, they offered to mail it to my home, first class priority mail with insurance. This wallet had over $60 in cash, two debit cards, one credit card, and close to $150 in gift cards. I was astounded at the honesty and the integrity of the staff at Rodeway Inn and Suites. I certainly wasn't expecting it in this small town. How easy it would have been for the housekeepers or the manager to clean it out and forget about it. This incident only showcases the commitment to customer service and quality virtues that reside in the staff of Rodeway Inn and Suites. If you are staying in Blanding, you can trust that Rodeway Inn is dedicated to servicing their...
Read moreFirst, why only 4 stars? I found out in the morning my room did not have shower curtain. It really didn't affect me so well but I felt bad for the mess of the water on the floor, which really was minimal in my opinion. Had I seen this the night before I know they would have done something right away.
That being said, the stay was wonderful. I always have a great stay here. I find it to be clean, efficient, and pleasant. It is usually overkill for me as I use very little and basically only need a place to sleep. Iron & ironing board, refrigerator & microwave, TV with a lot of channels & HBO, lots of room and a comfortable bed - only the last one is what I need. I generally enjoy breakfast here as well but this time I had to leave before breakfast opened at 6:30am. Good wifi (I do need this when I stay).
As such I generally stay where it is the cheapest that is good. (I once stayed in a place that was cheap but my laptop plug would just fall out of the outlets as they were so bad - never stayed there again). This example did NOT happen here.
Friendly staff and conveniently located. Grocery store slightly down the road on the opposite side (you could walk there). Family Dollar right across the street.
I would...
