The Blue Sage Inn & Suites — Hotel in Blanding

I have been staying at hotels a lot for work over the past couple years and I’ve got to say the Blue Sage Inn is definitely in my top 5, and I mean top 5 across the country! I find myself to be kind of a “snob” with hotel/motels and this one doesn’t disappoint! To be honest I still have a couple nights left staying here but I felt like I had to write a review sooner than later. I’ve enjoyed my stay so much I got the company I work for to switch all of our drivers to stay here when we come to Blanding that’s how good it is. The tv is huge and fantastic! It’s an internet smart tv so you can use Netflix, Hulu, NBA tv app, direct tv stream, YouTube tv, etc…. And streaming is amazing too, the internet has been great 80 up and 140 download speeds so streaming has been fantastic. The rooms are recently renovated and you can definitely tell, the bed in the room might be the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in at a hotel and the bedding and pillows are definitely high quality and comfy too! The water pressure for the standup shower is great and the bath towels are too! For breakfast they provide a grab and go currently but have homemade breads and they’re fantastic and delicious. I’m telling you right now if you stay here I find it very hard to believe you’ll be disappointed, especially for the rate that they charge, don’t go anywhere else in Blanding, shoot, don’t go anywhere in southern Utah for that matter, give the Blue Inn Sage a try, you’ll...

I wanted to love this place with the architectural history, but the practical side of staying in a motel was missed during the current owners renovations. With large windows just as you enter, they become a nuisance the moment you want to sleep. Owners provided very light generic black out curtains that don’t fully reach the bottom, top or sides of the window. If you don’t like sleeping in a room lit by the outside parking lot lights to the point of being able to read, look somewhere else.

Renovations are happening and apparently begin at 6:30 am. As I write this, someone has decided to start digging and spraying outside as they are installing a sidewalk. Combined with the observation that Blanding’s residents and tourists appear to be on the move at 6 am and the motel is located just on the main drag through town, sleeping past 6 probably won’t happen.

Breakfast is provided but during renovations it is a bagged “meal” with granola bars and yogurt if you specially request it. Unless you’re bald, don’t plan on using the provided shampoo/conditioner as I’ve never seen such small toiletries. Be sure to bring your own if you want to utilize the large shower.

The bed is comfortable, it was very clean, the bathroom is large and I appreciated the little dedicated workspace. Check in/out was very easy, I liked the key-code doors for a motel but do worry that the codes have to be changed manually so I hope they go through and update them room by...

The owner of Blue Sage Hotel really saved us. We had gotten in pretty late, and were not having luck finding other accommodations. I called Blue Sage Inn and was answered by the owner herself, who drove over to check us in after hours... and it was LATE. She was friendly and even got our heater in the room turned on before we got there. We would have been sleeping in our car all night without this woman’s kindness.

Along with excellent above and beyond personalized care, our room was immaculate. It smelled great, (I want to call and ask what kind of laundry detergent they use.) The rooms are cozy, bright, and Blue Sage Inn offered great extras that I haven’t even had in larger cities’ hotels such as complimentary water bottles in the fridge, a nice brand of shampoo and conditioner, lotion, self care kit with w-tips, nail file, bandaids, etc, and make up removers. They also offered Roku services to access YouTube or your own personal accounts like Netflix and Hulu.

The mattresses were so comfy, and this may not be important to some, but each bed had three full size fluffy pillows, everything decorated in a fun and inviting way.
