Dont stay at this hotel and here's why:
I called this hotel and asked if a monthly rate was available as I was in town for work and paying my own fees. Jay that works at the front desk said he could give me a room for $83 for the month. I asked him repeatedly, "$83 for the month, not per night correct? ". each time he replied, "yes $83 for the month" after a month I checked on renewing our agreement and at this time I was informed he'd been charging me $83 per night. costing me thousands of dollars. when I reported this to Wyndham customer service they assured me that the phone calls are recorded as well and the videos of the front desk and this matter would be looked in to and tapes reviewed. after weeks of hearing nothing back I recontacted Wyndham and they informed me that since I signed the registration form I was in fault. now heres where it gets just awesome: (I thought hard about deleting the total amount in photo one but I want everyone to know how much Jay stole from me) [ ] notice in photo #1 all the inconsistencies in the lines; how jagged they are and how in one place the line is thin and next its thick. an obvious sign of tampering and editing. notice how the total amount is in bold while the rest of the form is not. (wasnt there when I signed this form). notice also how my initials have been traced over and the last "agreement" wasnt signed making this an incomplete form. [ ] photo #2 is an email from Wyndham customsr service where they tell me the general manager is "Anthony scheff". [ ] photo #3 is an email from someone named "Ravi" claiming to be the general manager. [ ] photo #4 is perhaps my favorite email from these people. thanking me for contacting customer service and then in the same email instructing me that if I have any complaints to please contact customer service. I then contacted the Better Business Bureau hoping for help. whomever it was that responded informed the "better" business bureau a that the tapes only save for 30 days and they can no longer be reviewed (awfully convenient isnt it?) so all I got out of it was basically, "were taking note of your displeasure and your case is closed, have a nice day". so apparent Wyndham pays the better business bureau's wages.
Jay that works the front desk at this hotel and the Wyndham employees are amongst the most dishonest and deceitful human beings I have ever had the misfortune of coming across. how truly sad it is that in the midwest of this great country, an employee such as Jay, is not only allowed to lie, cheat, and steal from guests but is apparently encouraged to do so.
this was my experience here. stay here at...
Read moreFirst off, the location is great. Big open space. Right off the main drag. Easy to see. It's like 2 minutes from the Jolly Green Giant Statue and museum. I paid $115.85 for a non-smoking room with 2 queen beds. I made a reservation online before coming here. So for check-in, I just told the gentleman at the counter my name. Signed and initialed the paper. Got 2 keys to our room. The pool sign says it was open and 11 pm which was neat! The pool area was dark but had lights in there. It wasn't TOO dark. But we were in there around 9 pm. So I imagine during the day, with the HUGE window, it's well-lit in there. You use your room key to access the pool. There were towels in there on a rack, but they only had one big one in there. We could've asked for more but we didn't need any, so it was okay.
First experience with the room. The key worked easily at the door. You open the door and there is a smell. Musty? Or "old people smell"??? It wasn't bad, but it did kinda hit you in the face. The room had a fridge(which partially froze our food and drinks overnight, that sucked), ironing board, safe, standing closet, dresser, desk, coffee maker, hair dryer, fully stocked with towels, extra toilet paper, tiny bottles of shampoo, two small boxes of bars of soap, TV, phone, an alarm clock that went off at midnight. Might've been my kids though that did that.
The complimentary breakfast was good. We got there towards the end though so we didn't get to see it fully stocked. I saw some pastries, bread, English muffins, a place to make waffles, a cereal dispenser, a pitcher of milk, yogurt, jelly, butter, orange juice, apple juice, eggs, and sausage patties. The woman started picking it all up a few minutes before 10 am. She was nice, but we didn't interact with her. Not for sure what her job title was there. But she seemed nice and was doing her job. We needed a place to sleep for the night, and that's...

Here are a few observations of note: 1 - Front desk help was not terribly helpful. We called ahead to confirm a late check-in and the gentleman didn't bother to tell us that there is major construction on I-90 going on in the area through 2024 and we would have to take a back road off a different exit to access the hotel. That would have been nice to know since we ended up having to drive beyond the typical exit a few minutes and then come back from the opposite direction since the west-bound exit was closed. 2 - Everything at the hotel seemed mickey-moused. Really poor shoestring budget repairs in the rooms - loose fixtures, warped doors that wouldn't close, etc, etc. 3 - Pool closes very early and opens late, so the kids couldn't swim at all, to our disappointment. 4 - Breakfast was meager and clearly stuff had been placed out for eating that was not fresh - the seals on the tops of the butter packets weren't even attached, so the butter was exposed to the environment, whatever that may be. This isn't necessarily a reflection on the kitchen worker, she was very good/pleasant and diligent/attentive, but she only had limited resources to work with, clearly.
My issue is this - we needed a place to lay our heads, which we got, so for that, this hotel is adequate and met our needs. However, the rooms were over-priced - do not pay more than $100/nt to stay here (I did, unfortunately). This is a motel essentially and should be...
