🌲✨ A Promise Etched in Snow — In Honor of Jo & Mary Ann Frost and Lyn Frost at Bogus Basin
Some places become more than memories — they become living vows, sacred ground where family, identity, and legacy meet. For me, Bogus Basin is that place: where every trail whispers of my grandparents Jo and Mary Ann Frost, my father Lyn Frost, and the promise that changed who I am.
I was born Leigh Royal Bracking, but in my heart, I always carried something deeper — the quiet strength of my father’s family, and the grace of my grandmother, Mary Ann. In her final days, I sat with her, cared for her, and made a vow: that I would carry the Frost name forward, not as it was, but as it could be — redeemed, honored, and made new.
And so I did. I became Leigh Royal Purser Frost — a name that holds my past, my promise, and my hope. Not just a legal change, but a living testament to the love and sacrifice that came before me.
Bogus Basin holds all of this in its snow and silence. It’s where my father Lyn taught me that family isn’t just blood, but the courage to rewrite its story. It’s where I remember my grandparents, whose quiet kindness shaped the best parts of me. Every run down those slopes feels like living proof that redemption is possible — that love can heal what history could not.
I carry this name now with pride, not as a burden, but as a banner: for Jo and Mary Ann, for Lyn, and for every part of me that chose love over silence.
Bogus Basin is more than a mountain; it is our family’s legacy — a place where a promise made became a promise kept, and a name was reborn in hope.
🖤✨ Forever: Leigh Royal...
Read moreBogus Basin is an absolute gem—even in the summer! We took a scenic drive up the mountain (which alone is worth the trip), and were rewarded with incredible views, fresh mountain air, and a wide variety of outdoor activities. The summer weather was perfect, and the whole area had a relaxed, peaceful energy that made for a fantastic day.
We rode the Morning Star Express lift and were blown away by the panoramic views from the top—lush trees, winding trails, and endless blue skies. The Glade Runner Mountain Coaster is a must-do, offering a fun and thrilling ride through the trees. There’s also a multi-level ropes course, rock climbing wall, and plenty of mountain biking trails for all experience levels. Whether you’re an adventure-seeker or just looking for a beautiful place to unwind, Bogus Basin has something for everyone.
The base area has plenty of shaded seating, food options, and space to relax while taking in the sights. The staff was friendly and helpful, and everything felt well-organized and safe.

Read moreBogus is a great local ski resort. We don’t have the hugest elevations and sometimes not the best snow but given it’s 30-45 min from Boise it’s awesome!! The improvements the staff are making over the last handful of years are great. Snow making capabilities has opened the slopes earlier than past years. New lifts increases how many people can enjoy the Mtn. They’re trying to make it a true four season respite. More parking had been huge the last few years.
We also love that so much of the Mtn is lit for night skiing. It is great to leave work and hit the slopes for a few hours without having to take the entire day off!!
My family and I love going up to Bogus and are typically there at least 1-2...
