We stayed at this location on business and we absolutely would not stay at this facility in the future. Yes, the hotel appears to be fairly new and clean and we had no issues with our room, however, the employees we encountered throughout the duration of our stay seems to be untrained, very rude and unprofessional. We pulled up and my husband walked in to check-in and grab a luggage cart. A male employee sitting at the front desk followed my husband out and decided to stand across from our car and watch my husband with the luggage cart. He was standing there; we were standing by our car and it was a staring contest because we were trying to figure out what he wanted. His behavior was so odd! This man did not greet us, say hello or ask if we needed help, so clearly, he was not there to help us. His body language made it very obvious that was inspecting/watching us for negative reasons. This man walked back in the hotel and came back out a couple of minutes later and was peeping at us from the main entrance and I guess he did not have a good enough view so he walked back to the same location he was standing in across from our car watching us. I mean… watching us as if we were going to steal the cart. It was annoying and also humiliating. What saddened me as I was observing this is there were about three other families checking in at this same time and we did not notice him glance not even once at these other hotel guests who were also unloading their luggage. He is a front desk clerk and somehow he felt it was his hall monitor, security guard duty to watch us like a Hawk as if we were going to steal the cart. I mean, is this a common thing at this hotel? Do people steal luggage carts? And if this is the case, why weren’t all guests being watched? Oh that’s right… I forgot to mention we are brown and the other guests were not. This did not end here. After we got our luggage loaded, we stopped by the front desk and as soon as my husband approached the front desk this same male employee began whispering and giving hand signals to the young lady sitting at the desk. What was all that? We were in disbelief at how disrespectful and unprofessional these two were. Still... no hello, no greeting, not a thank you for being Marriott Platinum Elite members, nothing. As a matter of fact, we both cannot recall any of the employees greeting us upon entering or exiting the hotel over the next couple days we stayed there. This behavior is unacceptable. Guests should not be treated this way! We would be more than happy to provide our check-in information so management could possibly pull up the video recording and view this man’s crazy behavior. I would hate for other guests to be treated this way. It...
Read moreI stayed here for a week in February 2022 with friends and will stay again in April for a week with family. This location is unbeatable if you like Bradenton. Nestled directly between the picturesque marina and the restaurant/nightlife district, we had everything we needed just a short walk away. Also, the Riverwalk in Bradenton is gorgeous. This hotel is at one end. If you walk east the entire way (about a mile), you'll be rewarded by a beach bar on the point with live music. There are museums, art shops, and performance venues all in short walking distance. LECOM Park, spring home of the Pittsburgh Pirates, is about one mile south.
The hotel itself is a typical SpringHill Suites. Clean, contemporary, and unpretentious. There is a small market area in the lobby with snacks, drinks, and first aid items that are priced exceptionally well. No price gouging here.
We stayed in a water view with two queen beds and a trundle bed under the sofa. Frankly, the sofa was a comfortable sleeping bed without even rolling out the trundle. The bathroom has a barn door, which looks great but provides little privacy. There was a large, walk-in closet big enough to house all our luggage and a full wardrobe. Microwave and refrigerator are neatly tucked away in a cabinet. The room doors seem wired for keyless entry. But, I couldn't get it to work on my app. The front desk staff was great and gave us as many keys as we needed.
Like many hotels, staff is at a premium. So, housekeeping was on an as-requested basis. I don't mind this at all. We requested service once during the week. I did hear a guest complain that service was not performed on his room when he requested it. That wasn't my experience.
The true gem of this property is the attached restaurant, the Oak and Stone. Particularly, the rooftop bar. This place was packed the whole week. Fortunately, as a hotel guest, we were able to access the rooftop bar via the rooftop pool area with no wait. We spent a part of each day on the rooftop taking in the amazing view with a cocktail and appetizers.
During our stay, we Ubered everywhere. So, we didn't have a rental. If you do rent a car, though, there is nice drop-off/check-in area right off the main lobby. The parking lot for the hotel is just across the street.
I highly recommend this location when you are in Bradenton. Great amenities and only 8 miles to...
Read moreI give the hotel a 1 star rating for Below average service, HORRENDOUSLY BAD engineering/room design, and a breakfast that lacked anything other than coffee to drink (not even cold water)
The bathroom has a sliding glass door that doesn't close all the way, or lock, so you can see the toilet if you stand in the corner of the bedroom. It also is glass, so light shines into the bedroom if you are trying to use it at nighttime.
The television is placed facing the divider between the couch and beds, so you cant watch TV from bed comfortably, its supposed to be turnable, but it doesn't turn all the way, so its still hard to watch it from either the couch or the beds.
The service was below average, if you want extra towels, they will give them to you, but you have to go down and get them, they wont bring them to your room like most hotels will.
Lastly breakfast was 1 star. The offered Omlets, sausages, yogurt, and packaged blueberry muffins. Oh and for drinks they had: coffee coffee, and coffee. No juice, milk, or even just water. If you wanted to drink something that wasn't coffee you had to pay for it at the front counter.
Overall this hotel definately wasnt a family friendly experience. It might be alright of you are staying by yourself or with a friend, but not if you are uncomfortable with people accidentally opening the bathroom door on you, or getting woken up at night if someone wants to use the bathroom, or if you dont want coffee for breakfast.
The hotel was clean, but a tent can also be clean, and ive stayed at motels that are clean, so that isnt much. Its got a nice view, and is located right next to a pier, so you can dock your boat and go straight to the hotel. It also has a somewhat small pool on the roof, with a good view, and a nice bar also...
