This review is long overdue (and long-winded), but now that life has settled down, I have to give my absolute highest recommendation for Cheyanne and the Shy Chic Boutique!! We hired her company for both our florals/decorations and āmonth-ofā wedding coordination for our September 2024 wedding, and she absolutely made our wedding dreams come true.
First, the florals. Cheyanne is incredibly talented and created GOREGOUS bridal bouquets, bridesmaid bouquets, corsages, boutonnieres, and centerpieces that looked completely real (at a FRACTION of the cost of fresh flowers). She took my inspiration photos and verbal requests and brought the florals of my dreams to life, exactly as I had envisioned them. It brings me so much joy to wake up and see my wedding bouquet on display every day, looking just as beautiful as the day I walked down the aisle with it. These flowers looked so realistic that my mother-in-law texted me several weeks after the wedding asking how her corsage still looked so fresh⦠she didnāt even realize it was artificial, and she wore it! Cheyanne was also flexible and thoughtful, suggesting ways to reuse our ceremony decor during the reception to help us save money. A true angel!!
Now, for the coordination. Hiring Cheyanne as our month-of coordinator was the perfect balance between DIY planning and having expert support when it mattered most. We spent the year researching, interviewing, and hiring our vendors, and then the month before the wedding, Cheyanne took over all communications and contracts to make sure everyone was aligned and nothing fell through the cracks. This lifted such a weight off our shoulders and allowed us to focus on enjoying the lead-up to our big day (worth every penny!) Her communication was clear, efficient, and eliminated all the last-minute wedding stress just as things were really ramping up.
Now, the kicker. Our wedding took place on September 28, 2024, in the St. Petersburg area⦠just TWO DAYS after Hurricane Helene made landfall, bringing catastrophic and unprecedented flooding. What could have been a total disaster (or honestly a canceled wedding) turned into something even more beautiful than we imagined, all thanks to Cheyanne and her incredible team.
We learned on Friday, September 27, FOUR HOURS before our rehearsal, that our reception venue was flooded and unusable. Incredibly, Cheyanne had already contacted the City of St. Petersburg and found out about the flooding before the venue owners even had a chance to assess or report the damage. I was absolutely devastated.... until Cheyanne called.
Within four hours, she had: Found three alternate reception venues for us to choose from (giving me just enough control in the chaos). Contacted every single vendor (DJ, photo booth, photographer, videographer, bartenders, etc.) and coordinated the change in location. Personally drove out to track down our caterer (since they hadnāt responded) with a backup already on standby. Made the one-hour drive from her studio and arrived at our rehearsal on time.
I am still in awe of what she accomplished (and there is so much more that I am not even touching on!)
Our new venue was absolutely stunning and ended up being the reception of our dreams. During the event, Cheyanneās team took care of EVERYTHING so we and our families could truly enjoy the celebration. They made sure we were fed, hydrated, boozed, comfortable, and stayed on schedule, all without ever feeling intrusive. They blended into the event seamlessly and kept the energy flowing all night. They even found the perfect moment to distribute glow sticks that completely hyped up the dance floor!
If this story doesnāt convince you of how committed Cheyanne is to her work and her clients, I donāt know what will. Ā Ā Ā Read more10 āļø!! Let me start off by saying⦠holy cow!!! Cheyanne and her team went above and beyond at our wedding!!! She was our florist AND month of coordinator⦠and let me tell you⦠she was out of this galaxy! Since day one she had some amazing ideas that we would have never dreamt of! Iāll start off with the florist side of things⦠her flowers are so life like that they will break up your family! I mean this in a good way⦠I had to argue with my mother because she had a flower from my wedding in water for almost a week ⦠she was worried about it dying! I told her it wasnāt a real flower and it would never die. She didnāt believe me⦠she was 100% sure it was real.
My bridal bouquet idea was about 50 ideas piled into one⦠cheyanne played with it and humored me and came up with a masterpiece! My now husband didnāt want my flowers to ādrapeā because my holder was a star wars hilt. The Shy Chic team understood the assignment and make my bouquet big and beautiful.. and completely different than any other arrangements⦠all while making it match at the same time! Our daughter also had a mini hilt and her arrangement was on point! Let me talk about the guys and their pocket boutonniĆØresā¦OMG! They had a manly touch to them but somehow also matched my flowers and every other set of flowers! We gave her a last minute task of adding Star Wars Lego mini figures to them and she did without hesitation! On top of that⦠she gave Chewy, C3P0, Darth Vader, Obi won Kenobi and Boba Fett their own mini bouquets! The decor from the ceremony to the reception was extraordinary! We filled the bathroom and the hallway with unique touches that wouldnāt have been possible without this team of amazing people!
I was hiding away upstairs while watching guests arrive⦠my eldest son arrived with a baseball cap on⦠communication was made and in about 10 seconds flat⦠my sonās hat was off! They made sure everyone got to their seats before the bridal party came out.. she made sure everyone made it upstairs. While we were outside with the photographer the Shy Chic team understood we would miss out on happy hour.. they brought us food and drinks and made sure we were had everything we needed. Of course during the reception I needed some personal items and Cheyanne rushed to get them for me! Her team then brought food to our tables since we chose to have buffet style with a carving station. Our plates ended up empty and our stomaches full! After we cut our cake she gave us a to go box with a nice big piece of our cake (thatās all we wanted) and we enjoyed it alone, later that night. The teamās clean up was so professional and fast! I canāt say enough good things about Cheyanne and her team!! Now, please noteā¦nothing is perfect⦠and when a mirror that I made for my ceremony broke, she told my husband but let me know at the end of the night⦠I didnāt even notice if it was there or not! Ā Ā Ā Read moreI loved the ladies at shy chic when I first met them, but was disappointed with how things played out. I hired shy chic for my decor flowers and my day of coordinator. The first disappointment was the flower decor. I wished I couldāve been a part of the flower selection process for my decor. They ended up looking way too rustic than I wanted for my theme. At the time, I didnāt know that I wouldnāt be involved and had to be ok with whatever showed up since they reuse the flowers. The second disappointment was the day of coordination by Bianca. Ahead of the wedding, Bianca wanted our table seating arrangements, which was fine, but I told her they were not final and I was worried about sending them ahead of time. She said to send anyways, so I did. Then, I sent her our final seating arrangements (for a plated meal) a few days later (as guests last minute cant come and things are re-arranged). Day of the wedding, Bianca uses the old table arrangements so our food vendor canāt get the vegetarian plates correct and it was a mess for them trying to make sure everyone got what they ordered. Then, to top it all off, on the day of, Bianca blamed me and said I never sent an updated table arrangement (when I looked back at email, I did and I knew I did). Another frustration was with the decor. I had a few items to place on the tables that got delivered to the venue. Bianca had a list of everything we had that would go on the tables. When extra items showed up at the venue (not from me) she just assumed it went on the tables instead of asking me (when it didnāt go with my color scheme that she knew about in advance as well).
