Omg where do I begin? I have stayed here on and off for about 20years for a yearly conference, no issue that I can remember. We had to switch rooms three times and after the third time, I said Iâm not switching again. I asked for a balcony poolside with a foam pillow and extra towels. I have really bad allergies and really need the foam pillows. The first room did not accommodate any of these things so we asked to move. They said they did not have any balconies remaining, that they were booked up. After my friend went downstairs and spoke to the manager, all of a sudden, a balcony room opened up. Get into the room and the sliders do not open, the safe didnât work. The air conditioning screening was fallen apart and the maintenance guy said that the air conditioning does not work in that room that it keeps shorting out so we switched rooms. Once again, it was amazing how they found another balcony room previously they said they had none whatsoever. This is in within about a two hour timeframe now. I had completely unpacked twice and repacked twice . We switch rooms again for the third time, and I said I was not gonna switch again now almost 3hours go by. Oh, not to mention that the keys for the rooms were not working. At this time we have gone up and down the elevator at least four or five times. The sliders did not open which they were able to fix for us, The phone and the alarm clock does not work. The sink does not drain. The light in the closet does not work and the closet doors do not close. We found that the floor was not clean as we found earring backing, and some hair clips on the ground not to mention some black hair that was stuck to my feet quite disgusting. In the middle of the night the clock came on and the alarm went offâŚfun times! We asked that they compensate us for something for all these troubles so they decided to give us a free dinner. I ordered my dinner. It came wrong and it was 45 minutes later I ate the salad And just left they offered to make the sandwich again and I said no as I had somewhere to go and I could not wait another 45 minutes. Not to mention the Cook that came out to apologize reeked of weed. Maybe thatâs why it took so longâŚughhh once again. Now Iâm hungry and Iâm irritable. It just seemed that one thing after another was happening. Theyâre in a process of Renovating the lobby area so as a result, there is no place to hang out and watch TV and have a cup of coffee other than the little restaurant area. The breakfast there is pretty decent even though it cost $15.99. -all you can eat with a omelette station. Iâm really really disappointed with all these issues. We talked to I think it was three different managers/supervisors as there always seem to be someone different every time we went To the front desk. I was extremely disappointed, and unfortunately, my yearly event is coming here again next year. I really hope they get their shit together by then I meant to mention that if you decide to walk the grounds, be careful because thereâs holes everywhere. Lucky I did not twist my ankle. The grounds are not kept up at all. It was not nice looking. For a Sheraton, I was very disappointed. I would never have expected this type of quality from a chain hotel. I still never got my foam pillow. I just decided to take allergy pills and eventually asked for an extra towel when I saw one of the cleaning ladies. Just a really...
Read moreI stayed here for 20 nights for a business visit and was disappointed with my stay for multiple reasons:
Breakfast: My stay included breakfast. On day 1 after my breakfast, I was handed over a $17+ bill. When I informed that my stay included BF, I was told to provide coupon which obviously I was not given during check in. She then went to reception and gave me 6 coupons. When I informed that I am staying for 20 nights, she said I can pick other coupons later. After few days when I requested coupons from a different receptionist, she was all suspicious as if I was doing a fraud, but eventually I was given it. Coming to breakfast, bacon was so much fried that it was breaking like crackers. Same with pork sausage which was 1 step short of being fully burnt.
Room service: The following were list of disappointments with room service:
On day 1 I requested for additional water bottles other than the 2 complimentary bottles using their app chat option. The response I got was to come down and buy them which was shocking. I didnât respond and eventually the receptionist came and gave me couple of bottles. Next day I went to Costco and bought a 40 pack of water bottles. Over 20 days, atleast complimentary bottles were not provided on 6-7 days. Only 2 toiletries were provided which were soap and moisturiser. That too they were provided once in 4-5 days. One day I requested dental kit and shaving kit over their app. After 3 hours of no response, I again used their chat option and got it after additional 30 mins. Body wash and conditioner dispensers both got over same day. Got it after I requested. Wondering what daily room cleaning is done if basics are not checked . Used glass was lying around without cleaning or replacing on 1 day. Room cleaning skipped totally on 2 days Bed sheet was not changed for 20 days. I could see the same stain for 20 days.
Room:
Room size was adequate but there was dust in drawers which points to no cleaning. The living room didnât have wifi coverage which was another disappointment as couldnât use study table for office work due to lack of signal. TV struggled to get wifi and my personal Netflix account kept buffering.
Check in:
As I was staying for 20 nights and a silver elite member, I did request for a good room . However, the room given had a view of some other building terrace. Probably the worst view in hotel. Considering the hotel was sparsely populated, it was disappointing the way room was given to me especially after a request.
Misc issue
One of elevator button didnât glow after pressing , so was always wondering if it will go to destination.
Wondering what kind of standards is Marriott or Sheraton are maintaining here. Basic hotel services are not followed and it seems just like a 1 star motel.
Understand that there is renovation going on, but that should not impact basic room services.
Positives:
some staff were polite in general. gym was decent. Room storage options were adequate
Having stayed in Sheraton in April in Vietnam and JW Marriott in Mumbai in June this year, this experience has left me totally...
Read moreThe hotel is clean and the rooms are comfortable. The majority of the front desk staff however leaves much to be desired. The front desk supervisor Lauren was very disrespectful and demeaning to my friend who is a disabled senior citizen. She was sent to this hotel as a perk for being a VIP ICON member with a sister hotel which I wonât name so their reputation doesnât suffer for this. The first night that she stayed she checked into the hotel around 7PM but her room wasnât ready. When the room was ready she carried her luggage and went to the room which was a bit of a walk; only to find that it was a room with only one bed and not 2 as previously arranged. She went back to the front desk luggage in tow and notified them of the situation. They changed the room and she then inquired if someone could assist her as sheâs physically disabled and recovering from cancer. She was told there was no one on staff that could help her right now. At the time there were 3 people at the desk. She also inquired about the lounge. She was promptly informed that the lounge was intended for their platinum members and those who stay at least 75 times a year.ââSo they felt special during their stayâ and that if she wished to have access it would be $40 per person. It was not so much the words but the tone with which she spoke. As if she were insignificant. Then she was told there were charges for parking. (which was not divulged when she arranged for the room and nightly deposit) that it was $6 for her 2 night stay for parking then admonished her by shaking her finger at my friend, saying this is a one time courtesy itâs not to happen again. She repeated this 3x speaking to her in a condescending manner. My friend made it a point to call the hotel to find out exactly what was required prior to arriving. So the parking charges were new to her. Thereâs more to the interaction and the bottom line is she spoke rudely and made her feel embarrassed and dejected .I wasnât there for this but my friend relayed what happened to me over phone. She was very shaken, anxious and in tears. The second night I joined her as planned and when we arrived we were greeted warmly by Todd who has exemplary interpersonal skills and is a shining example of what hospitality means. He listened to and addressed her concerns. Also a young lady named Amanda F. who prepares breakfast and sets up the lounge amongst her responsibilities is very personable and welcoming and definitely went a long way in helping to make the rest of the stay pleasant. My friend was denied the decency and respect thatâs due to any human being who would be a guest at their establishment. I hope that the GM and the corporate office take a look at the people they have promoted and realize some bad choices may have been made. They have at least 2 stellar employees who are an asset that deserve accolades and upward mobility. Again Todd and Amanda F were wonderful at their job and very...
