I came to Jersey College in 2023 from a long sales career, with only a GED I earned 22 years earlier. I had a lot of fear about returning to school and changing careers, but the staff laid everything out honestly and did not sugarcoat the realities I would be facing. I graduated two years later in February 2025, passed the NCLEX on my first try, and they even helped me land my first job. I felt accepted and supported throughout the journey. If you conduct yourself professionally and trust the process, they will guide you to the same success.
Now let’s get real: nursing school is tough because nursing itself is tough. The Dean and her staff are not rude or uncaring. In fact, they care deeply. I saw instructors stay late, provide extra resources, tutoring, reviews, and try to accommodate different learning styles, but they can't custom-tailor the program to every individual student. They are professionals training future professionals, not here to play the role of your parents. If you act unprofessional, expect to be held accountable. I was in those classrooms and did the work. Jersey’s program is a precision, purpose-built machine designed to build you up step by step and reinforce what you learn as you progress. They give you the foundation to be a great nurse and prepare you for the NCLEX so you're not blindsided when it matters.
Of course, you will meet students who never buy in. They look for shortcuts and information from anywhere but their instructors and the textbooks that actually have the answers. They show up late or not at all, can’t wait for breaks to leave the classroom, or hold side conversations during lecture. Then they blame the school when they fail. The truth is simple: you can't cheat on the NCLEX, and this program isn’t a daycare; it’s a crucible that forges real nurses. Nursing school requires sacrifices, and the amount of time you need to be successful is different for everyone. Some people fail because they take too many shortcuts and it finally catches up to them. Others fail because they truly don’t have the time to dedicate, and that is a reality you have to face before committing. Jersey does not hand out participation diplomas, success is earned through discipline, sacrifice, and hard work.
This program is not easy, but it is affordable, straightforward, and will get you to the finish line if you put in the work and do your part. Jersey College made me confident and ready for the NCLEX, and I passed because of that. The Dean and her staff pour their hearts into this program, and I am proud to be a graduate. If you are serious, professional, and willing to commit, this place will make you a nurse. If you are not, it might not work out, but that's on you,...
Read moreI completed my LPN to RN bridge program in Feb 2023. I chose to go to Jersey College in 2021 because at the time they were the only nursing school around offering in person classes. Honestly, I heard mixed reviews about Jersey in the past. What I found for myself is just like ANY nursing school out there, you get out of it what you put in, there is no difference in that! I decided to do the quickest track possible (15 months) to complete and it was very tough at times but I ALWAYS felt supported. The instructors are real people and treat you that way. They laugh with you and will also cry with you (I literally mean that!). The instructors I had genuinely cared about myself and classmates. Ms. Finney, Ms. Butler, and Ms. E are hands down some of the best! Not just the best at Jersey but the best instructors I've EVER had. They take the time to make sure you understand what is being taught, and that includes spending time (hours) at home, reading the material, finding resources to help different learning styles and, offering support after class hours to help you succeed. When you get to the end of your program Ms. E will be your last instructor and she is absolutely wonderful. She is clear, to the point, professional and 150% invested in helping you succeed! (something MUCH NEEDED in med surg 2) I CANNOT leave a review on Jersey without a shout out to Mrs. S! She was by far the biggest support I had at school and my biggest cheerleader through the program. She is one of the busiest people I have met, but whenever you pop into her office it all stops and her focus is on you and whatever your issue is to help you with her undivided attention. They don't make many like her and Jersey is lucky to have her!
They have options to slow down and lighten your class load at any point during the program so you can go as slow as you want if life happens and you don't want to stop completely. The prereqs are built into the program so you don't have to complete them first and then start your program (something that appealed to me having no prereqs completed).
I only rated 4 stars because during my time there the clinical experience was not great, I do understand we were coming out of the pandemic so I know that presented a challenge. Also, I and several of my classmates had some issues once we were done with our information being correctly sent to the BON so we could sit and take the test. It was corrected and took my NCLEX about 3 weeks after I finished the program so it wasn't a terrible delay for me but some students didn't take theirs for another week or two. I would just encourage you to make sure all your demographic info is correct before your last day of school and it...
Read moreNot worth your hard earned money to invest in a diploma mill school! Jersey college is NOT regionally accredited; meaning, if you want to articulate from their expensive associates degree into a bachelors (BSN) degree, then reputable schools like community state colleges or universities will not even recognize credits from Jersey. You’d have to attend expensive schools like GCU, in order to have these credits transferred. Good luck, you’ll be in debt forever! More power to you if you can blow money away like that, for me it’s not worth it. Therefore, if you fail Jersey College’s nursing program and try to transfer, you’re out of luck, as their credits aren’t considered for evaluation and basically you must start from scratch! What a scam!!! I’ve heard from many students who have attended the RN (generic and bridge) program, that they would NOT recommend this “nursing” school to anyone! The clinical experiences are mainly in nursing homes or in skills lab lol wow! (clinical coordinator is so unorganized and rude), their “state of the art” skills lab is always malfunctioning and some theory classes are so long and drawn out by teachers who have absolutely no experience in the subject matter so they teach from YouTube, and by the time students get to their last semester, nursing students still don’t have the basic nursing skills confident enough to perform in the field! Sadly, some of the best teachers resigned. Lastly, this is important for prospective students to know before one invests in an expensive $$$ nursing program, “the final exit exam”! This consists of a comprehensive HESI or ATI final assessment, which you will not know what you will take until day of your scheduled test. This exit exam must be passed in order to officially graduate from the nursing program, so it does not matter if you’re an A/B or passing student. (Note there has been plenty of favoritism and lots of cheaters who passed the program!) They do not round up, so for example, if you get a 73.5% in ATI and passing requirement is 74%, you just failed the ATI exam; if you get a 924 HESI and passing requirement is 925, you failed the HESI exam. Pathetic right?! The program does not provide specific HESI or ATI assessments or textbooks throughout the nursing program. So you do risk failing out of 4 attempts, and there is an option to do short or long audit for an additional 2 more attempts at exit exam. If you fail, they could care less, they’ve already received your money and you do not receive a diploma! What a scam! Go to a more reputable community...
