We attended a 2 hour time share presentation in exchange for theater tickets, meals etc. We are not new to the time share spiel. We expect there to be untruths so were prepared. The two hours turned into 4 hours. Tip one: photograph with your phone everything they say and write down. We didn’t. Our sales rep’s name was Shane. He had a beautiful back story of how he got out of TIME SHARES and into Private Resident ownership (I can’t remember the exact term now, but he emphasized this was NOT a time share). The rules may be a tad different but it’s the same. We had friends who attended as well although we didn’t say they were in the same presentation as us. The facilities are beautiful. We didn’t actually stay there so you will have to read the other reviews for actual stays (beware of the GLOWING reviews) Shane told us a story about not being able to look in the mirror at himself when he was a real TIME SHARE salesman but now he can. We were 2 1/2 hours into the (2 hour) presentation before we even went on the tour to look at the property. At about 3 1/2 hours into the presentation, the money figures came out. We sat in an office for a different presentation because we were already time share owners at another resort while non-owners (time-share virgins) sat in the big noisy room. Back in our quiet office, Shane “looked up” the value of our current Hawaii timeshare. Shane was polite and personable all along. We thought we lucked out with a great sales person. Our deal: Nantucket would sell us a 1BR 1 bath triennial, with 12k+ Points each year plus 50,000 bonus points to use in RCI. All for $47k+ minus our time share value for $31,500 leaving us with “only” $16k+ to pay them and we get out of our Hawaii timeshare. At this point, I texted our friends. They were offered 20,000 points annually plus 100,000 bonus points for only $24k. We told them we had “friends” who during the “summer” were offered $24k for 20,000 pts annually and 100,00 bonus points. Shane acted like he had no clue what that department offered. We politely told him because of our age and not wanting to spend even more money, we didn’t think we were interested. Then he quoted Wayne Gresky (framed quote on his desk) about us missing 100% of the shots we didn’t take and this was our loss because we were still stuck in our Hawaii Westin Maui timeshare. At this point my husband went to the restroom. I was still trying to be polite so I said “well, maybe we’ll get another chance later on “. Shane replied, “you won’t because you have to sign a paper that we offered this and you refused”. I stood outside the office waiting for my husband to return and Shane is sitting acting miffed. I really don’t like confrontation or people mad at me so I said, “you actually are a very good salesperson” He snippily replied that was an insult to a salesperson when we didn’t buy. I said, “well you don’t have to be rude “. He said, “I’m not but you’re the one that’s stuck with paying for timeshare maintenance fees the rest of your life”. Then I said “now you’re just being a smart Alec”. My husband returned and I told him of our exchange and he said he didn’t want to sign this paper that said we wouldn’t be offered that amount for our Hawaii time share in the future. We signed and left. By the way, our friends bought. They seemed quite happy with their decision and we never tried to tell them otherwise. We already had a time share so we didn’t want to criticize their decisions especially since they got TWICE as many perks for less than half of what we were offered. We actually thought they got a great deal. That night they talked with their daughter and texted us they were going to cancel. We went back to the sales office the next day so they could cancel. We asked for a copy of the paper we signed. First told it was destroyed then said they wouldn’t give us a copy. Mad at us because we “talked” our friends into canceling. . “Manager” said we were causing “conflict” and “negatively” affected their office since friends canceled. Horrible experience ever.5...
Read moreMy mom went through the Branson Travel Group for a discount ticket package last year for our trip to Branson. After getting there, we then found out she had to sit through a presentation; which would have been okay except they kept us there for over 4 hours pushing and pushing until they finally got down to an owner introductory package for so many points for $1499. This meant we could stay for a week this year, but we still had to go through another presentation at the beginning of our vacation this year. She decided to go ahead with it.
The presentation part of our trip this year was a disaster and a horrible experience. We went there under the impression it was only 90 minutes and had made plans with the rest of our family for right after. We were then told it was 120 minutes and not 90 minutes. Needless to say we were a little on the frustrated side. Our presentation was supposed to start at 8:30, but we didn't get pulled back there until 8:40 which put us even later getting out which was even more infuriating. We ended up having a salesman named Gage. I went in already frustrated and tried to explain to Gage that we told them over and over last year she couldn't afford to be an owner and they kept on until they offered something low enough she was actually able to do at the time. I also apologized to him right off the bat and told him it wasn't his fault, but we were very frustrated. I explained to him that she or any of the rest of us definitely couldn't afford to do anything now because we are building a house. He never once apologized for the previous experience(which is something you do when a customer comes to you and tells you they had a bad previous experience). We were going to let him do his presentation, but after telling him she couldn't afford it, he kept saying "well let me go ahead and show you what we have and if at the end of the day, there's still not anything you can afford, you can tell me to kick rocks". It was like he was completely ignoring what I was telling him. What part of we don't have any extra money because it's all tied up in the house we're building isn't understood? He also kept saying things like "well I don't see your name on any of this", like what I was saying didn't matter, and "well you must've liked something because you signed up for it". Who says things to people like that? Especially when you're trying to get them to sign up for something?!
My mom then started to saying something, and he was completely rude and disrespectful and interrupted her. I said "are you going to let her talk?" His exact words were "No. I'm going to finish what I'm saying and then she can talk." I was so angry by then I couldn't see straight. He then went and got the manager and the manager came and explained that we could go ahead and go and didn't have to sit through anymore of the presentation. I'm sure he didn't say anything to his manager about how disrespectful he was to my mom and just told him I was being mean to him. I should have filed a complaint with the manager right then and there, but we were so shaken and upset, we were just ready to get out of there.
Gage does not have the right temperament or personality to do that kind of a job because there are times you will have to deal with people that are upset and frustrated, and you need to be able to show compassion and understanding. All he was interested in was trying to make a sale and didn't care about anything else.
The resort itself is beautiful and has amazing views of the lake, and the front desk staff at the tower where you check in and...
Read moreMillion Dollar views. Beautiful facility with high altitudes and views for miles of the beautiful Table Rock Lake. The outside of the complex has waterfalls and lushes greenery. Visually well maintained resort on the outside. Inside the condo is visual attractive. At a closer look there are some things that need improved. Outside railing on stairs was shaking in more than one location. -Sofa was lumpy and uncomfortable in need of replacing. One side the pull out bed stuck out. -The kitchen was very limited in supplies. Great for a quick breakfast not cooking. -Dirty Air Vents. I have never stayed anywhere in this price range where the vents were this dirty throughout the unit. YIKES!! Every vent black dirt. -Missed paint spots on walls.
Cost for this Villa I am not sure was worth the value with location and stairs. You don’t have a full lake view on level C. Also with the Villa just not being well maintained. I have paid much less elsewhere in Branson with better views and accommodations. I was starring at the back of another Villa at that lower level.
Let me take a step back and state I called Branson Nantucket before I made the reservation and after to make sure we would have a condo with no stairs. I was told we were in main tower by main pool. When we arrived we were told we were in a villa up the road. I thought ok. We pulled up. Got out the luggage and noticed a flight of stairs. Nope not our unit. So we went down another very long steep flight of stairs carrying our luggage. 2 flights of stairs later this was our unit! How with all our communication can this be our unit?!? We were exhausted and no going back now!
The minute we arrived to our Villa and we just traveled far had to use the restroom and toilet was clogged. Maintenance came and unclogged. Very nice and apologize.
Staff needs to pay attention to how they park. They parked to closed to me on a Saturday morning I could barely get into my car! They had plenty of room to move over just not considering of others. I would like to say it was a one time thing except I witnessed it the next day somewhere else on property. Not a good way to treat guest.
If you have a special needs and can’t do stairs. I have a Neuromuscular disorder and my friend a fused ankle. Making sure you have comfortable accommodations require communication. I travel all the time and I have never encountered anything like this. I would have to say this property is not ADA compatible due to the staff not being responsive to this need. If I wasn’t disabled I would still have issues with the dirty vents and the cost for the little view. Better values elsewhere.
UPDATE 8/28/21: Corporate office reached out on Google maps requesting I contact them via email. The email they provide does not accept outside emails. So you can not reach out and reply with the email they provided. So I called a Corporate number and left a message and never heard back. I am now convinced there is definitely a employee trancing issue...
