We booked our trip about a week out for the Lakeside building through VRBO. The pictures looked very nice, and our room was nice. There are several different pictures of rooms and property but no specific pictures of the room we were getting (which is usually how vacation rentals we have booked in the past show up). Saw several pictures of a kitchenette but we only had a microwave, mini fridge and coffee pot. (Be sure and bring your coffee as well because you only get one and if you need another it will cost you $5 for one packet of Folgers) I sent a message when booking and prior to our arrival but did not get a response, so we were unsure how to check-in. Luckily the person at the security gate helped us out. At check-in we were given room keys and told we would be in a studio. Once we arrived at our room with luggage in tow we discovered our keys did not work, luckily the house keeper was up on the fourth floor (we were on the first). Had to take the stairs up couldn't get the elevator to work. Once I found her she was very helpful!! She spoke to the front desk and they allowed her to let us in. Once in our room it was nice. Not the best view, but we did book last minute. We did notice later we were the only room without patio chairs. There was a newer looking electric grill on the patio as well. Our room did have a washer and dryer which we were unaware of when we booked it, so that was a pleasant surprise. Unfortunately there was no detergent. We did eat at the restaurant and had great food and excellent service. The young lady who was our server/bartender was wonderful!! We also visited the other bar/pool another night. Tried to get a shuttle by calling the front desk (the phone in the room did not work). We were told that the shuttle did not come to Lakeside. When asked about the one we had seen driving by we were told that it was only for potential timeshare buyers. Very disappointing and frustrating, We walked up the hill on a narrow two lane road with no shoulder to get to get on the property where all the amenities were. Very dangerous! We visit the area often and had always wanted to stay here. We were very disappointed and probably will not be returning.

Just spent 7 days in a studio apartment at Stormy point Village Lakeside. My reservation was supposed to be for a cottage and they refused to move me unless I gave them a large amount of money and all of the points I have left through Capital vacations. I then requested to atleast be moved to the apartment next to the unit I was in because the door was open and i saw it was bigger and would fit me and my kids better. They told me the whole building was fully booked. That unit next to me was never occupied the entire 7 days I was there. The unit I was in was absolutely filthy. Dirt on the walls, brown stuff running down cabinets, brown stains on the curtains, cigarette holes in the curtains, rips in our bedding, stains on towels, ceiling fan had cobwebs connecting the blades, thick layer of dust on every piece of furniture, head of the bed was broke so we had to sleep at a slant, and I had to go and buy my own broom and mop to clean the floors that were so sticky and dirty they were turning our feet black after a few hours of being there. Housekeeping transports the clean linens in the back of golf carts uncovered and it is also where they put the dirty linens and trash. Customer service was aweful and they were so rude. We will not stay here again and I will tell everyone I know to avoid it. It is a shame that such a cute place is so poorly ran.

We checked into 1404 yesterday (4th floor) and things were fine except there was a huge red line across the wall where a previous guest decided to rearrange the furniture. While in the restroom, I noticed reddish brown drops on the wall tile and vanity. ||||After taking a shower, there was a huge pool of water because the seal on the door was damaged and not attached to the glass door so the door didn't shut. The fan in the bathroom was also not connected to the ceiling and was extremely dirty. The security door latch also was pulled from the wall and was barely hanging onto the wall. ||||When we tried to dial 0 to call the front desk, the automated mesaage on the phone said that operator services would not be available after Dec 2017! Really?? It's Aug 2025! How is one supposed to now get ahold of the front desk from the room? We had to get in the car and drive to the front desk. ||||Sharon was super apologetic after we showed her the photos. She had to call her supervisor to get authorization and wanted to get us in a cottage but you could hear the supervisor clear as day over the phone say "No!" We were told that they couldn't move us to a cottage because we're owners and used points and they couldn't do a double upgrade (going from studio to a 2 bedroom). When Sharon talked to her supervisor, Sharon told her that only 1101 was available as 2 other condos were out of commission as well. ||||So we were told we would be given 1101 which is 1 level BELOW the parking lot. Ok, it is what it is. ||||In 1101, the bathroom had all the cabinet doors open that it looked like someone ransacked the bathroom. No toiletries were on the vanity. There was also no coffee nor laundry detergent in the condo. Basic housekeeping items that is supposed to be in the condo. ||||Upon further inspection of 1101, there were dead bugs that we assume were coming in through the unsealed front door since you could see daylight coming through and the security latch was completely missing from the door. ||||We had to go back to the front desk and politely asked Sharon that she needed to call her manager to find another solution as 1101 was even worse. Upon calling the front desk manager (Sharon's supervisor's supervisor) who authorized the move to a cottage, we were able to move. ||||When we returned back to 1404 to get our items, the pool of water from the shower was gone meaning that it soaked into the floor and will lead to a mold issue if it's not already there. ||||Out of the 12 condos, 4 had issues (incl the 2 I listed) and it's quite clear that it's in shambles. What is my HOA paying for because it certainly isn't for the upkeep of the building. It also feels that the building is the red-headed stepchild of the resort and it's still pricey. 75k points for a week in Aug for a studio is ridiculous especially when we were sold into the program that we could get a cottage in the village...

It's absolutely amazing! Allow me to start by saying we are a family of five(us, 2 teens, and a 6 month old). We stayed in a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom cottage and it was plenty big enough for all of us. The beds are king size and there is enough space to put a pack'n'play in there and still walk around. Our 2 older kids shared a room and we had our baby in our room. We didn't feel crowded at all. Everything was perfectly spotless and clean including the microwave, fridge, stove, and all the dishes and silveware. Those things are all usually gross when you stay somewhere, but not here. They provided nice thick bathroom towels and wash cloths, plus 2 robes(1 for each adult). The kitchen has a blender, measuring cups, mixing bowls, etc. Theyve literally thought of everything to make it feel like a home. IT'S AWESOME!!! We did have an issue with no hot water, but we just called the office and they sent someone over and got it fixed for us. We had dinner and saw a show at Pirate Harbor. It was delicious and entertaining! The wait staff was very friendly and accommodating. We used the indoor pool. The water temperature was very comfortable and it was soooo clean! All the towels are provided and they aren't those cheap thin towels. They are big and thick and super absorbent. Right before we left we decided to get some Starbucks coffee at the cafe and browse the gift shop. Great coffee! Cute gift shop! I loved all the lighthouse and mermaid merchandise. It seems like it's far away from everything because of how clean, quiet, and beautiful the community is, but it's only a 10min drive to everything. There's shopping, groceries, and entertainment all over. We're really happy we chose to stay here and we hope to be visiting...
