I did not see my stay posted in its usual location on my IHG app. Not sure if that was deliberate or if there is just a delay in posting, but this was my experience:
I do recommend staying here. We, for the most part, enjoyed our stay, however, there is room for improvement.
First, I was not greeted with the usual smile or “Thank you for being a platinum member” nor offered the usual complimentary snack or points. Could be because it is labeled a “resort” and I am not a member of the resort itself but I did book it through IHG and wherever I have stayed when booking with them, this is the typical greeting. The woman checking in the other guest, however, was very welcoming with the man she was checking in and did thank the guest for being a member.
Secondly, the resort is very nice. The villa was spacious. The individual who checked us in wrote the villa number down and upon arriving, we were looking for the way it was written, not realizing it was referring to adjoining rooms. Simple misunderstanding on our part but it would have been nice to be informed this was the set-up having never been there before.
Again, the resort was nice. I agree with reviewers that an update would be nice, but it provides everything you need. Ours had a full kitchen, living space, separate bedroom and bath and the adjoining room had a small refrigerator and microwave. The adjoining room had a separate bathroom while the main suite had the tub and shower in the room which I personally am not a fan of, but it is what it is.
I would recommend staying here because though not in the middle of everything in Branson, it is located close enough to it and of course golfing is at its backdoor. I would also recommend if you stay here to request a room on the upper levels because you can hear everything, and I do mean “everything” when referring to movements. I recommend the hotel places families with young children on the lower floors because of their tendency to run and jump. I was told they would speak with the people above us and was offered the possibility of our being moved. I’m not sure what was actually done because we were not moved and the noise above us did not stop. I do not blame the hotel necessarily for this as they are not responsible for people’s children and they may not have had a place to move us as they seemed relatively busy. It just made the stay a little less relaxing. Yes, we could have made a bigger deal about it, but that’s not the kind of guest I am. I realize everything is not within their control, but what they can do, the expectation is that they do it to make sure all guests feel welcomed and are accommodated to the best of...
Read moreThe first person we met was very sweet and kind and super helpful. Then we were sent off to a second desk to activate our keys only for them to try and sell us a meeting to do a pitch for a time share. I wanted nothing to do with it and when I told them no, he told me I don’t know what I am talking about. He was very pushy.
Our building was a 5 minute drive from the indoor pool and other main amenities. Which was fine. We entered the room. It was terrible. It was so run down. The carpet was a a dark teal from the 80s and was disgusting, and the floor turned our feet black if we didn’t have shoes on. There was food and dirty finger prints everywhere. The TVs were dirty and there was dust everywhere. The cabinets in the bathroom had paint pealing and water damage was just painted over. The room was so dark and it was very depressing inside the room. Outside the wood on the stairs was rotted, bugs and spider webs everywhere. You can tell they cannot keep up the maintenance on all the buildings.
The indoor pool would have been great but it was very cold so the kids didn’t want to stay in it long. The hot tub was nice.
If you can get over the rooms and cleanliness 3 out of the 4 mornings I was there I was woken up to them doing yard work at 8:00am. I understand that it needs be mowed and cared for but not at 8:00am. If I was going to be woken up then 1 out of the 4 days could have been tolerated. But multiple mornings was awful. I said something to the front staff and they basically told me they were sorry and to get over it. The walls are so thin you hear everything. The people upstairs must have been early risers because we were woken up by them as well.
The one nice thing is the beds in each room were comfortable but the pull out queen was terrible. There were not any sheets for the bed and had to wait about an hour for them to deliver them. The furniture had a smell to them and no one wanted to sit on them. They are so out dated and dirty.
Overall my kids and I couldn’t wait to leave this resort. We stuck it out because we just found other things to do beside be in the room. If you don’t have even minimum standards then by all means it might work for your family. But as for us I would never go back. I would not recommend anyone staying there until there is a complete renovation of...
Read moreI understand you get what you pay for. When we made reservations we chose the option to have the room assigned at check-in. At registration they volley you back from the front desk to the "vacation desk" and then back to the front desk for payment. We chose not to sit for the 90-minute timeshare presentation. Our room was pretty bottom level. The sofa and chair were uncomfortable. The the remote to the TV in the bedroom did not work, it did not control that TV. The TV in the front room was so small and hung above the fireplace, which did not face the sofa. There was no soap, no forks, we had to go to registration to get both. We tried calling before but no answer, called and called, no answer. We had two brooms, two dustpans, and two blenders. No forks. The next morning we made coffee (brought our own coffee-used their maker) and the carafe had no lid and coffee grinds, hot water etc spilled all over the place. Again we called and no answer so we had to take the coffeemaker to the front office. They brought us one by dropping it off at the front door, did not tell us it was there. The vacuum for the room had dirt in it as it was not emptied from previous guests. Ew. I do have to mention that something did happen on our 3rd day there with another guest in the villa that shared an entrance to ours. The staff and upper-level staff bent over backwards to get us moved and upgraded our room for our final night there. But even that room had a few problems. The thermostat needed a battery- so maintenance came and put the battery in while we were out having dinner. They left the box the batteries came in on the table. No big deal but... The A/C in that unit did not work as efficient -- as at 11 pm at night it was still 78° in the room and had not dropped one degree in a few hours. So, I called the front desk and lo and behold they answered! They said that the a/c in this particular unit took longer to cool down. It's a huge place with lots of units, I am sure the staff is spread thin, but a little more attention to detail would have been...
