The room was awful. We checked in to find a broken light fixture, and corresponding bulb and hardware strewn across the bed. There was a still-damp patch job on the ceiling above the light. There was apparent mold in the bathroom and in the trim under the air conditioner. Our toilet had obviously not been cleaned because there was urine on it. We decided to immediately check out, inquire about a refund, and stay elsewhere.
We were told by the desk attendent that a manager would have to see to a refund, and that the manager was currently off site. We were assured they would call us as soon as they returned, which would be in the evening. I never received a call. I tried calling the hotel multiple times throughout the evening but kept getting a busy signal.
Worried that I would simply be ignored and never be refunded, I called the Choice Hotel Customer Service line to no avail. They told me they were unnable to help me, and the matter would have to go through the local hotel.
Eventually that evening I did get through to a front desk attendent who told me the manager was still not on site, but should be there in the morning.
The next morning I called the hotel and was told the manager was still not on site, but may be there later in the day.
Since I was driving by the hotel that afternoon, I decided to stop by in person to see if there was a manager. The front desk attendent stepped around back for a moment and came back out saying the manager was still off-site. I expressed my concern that there was never a manager at this hotel, and that I was also concerned that I would never be refunded.
I asked for the names of all the managers who might ever be on duty, and also that legal action may have to be taken.
I went back to my car, and as I was about to drive away, someone came out and tapped on my window. It was the manager, who explained all sorts of personal issues for why she had not returned my calls or remedied my situation. It was apparent they had lied to my face, and potentially all the other times I was denied service.
This is a mismanaged, deteriorating, filthy dump of a hotel. Perhaps not all the rooms are as awful as ours was. If you are willing to take that risk for the economical price, that's your decision. I recommend if you at all have the means to stay elsewhere, though, please do.
Multiple hours of my vacation were spent dealing with this headache. I was eventually refunded half of my money after escalating the issue, but that's not good enough. I'll never stay at a Quality Inn or any Choice Hotel again if this is...
Read moreLong post alert!! First off we got to the hotel at 4:20, which was 20 minutes after check in time just to be told that one of our rooms was not ready. It finally became time to check in and we go to our rooms and another one of our rooms obviously was not ready as well. The beds were not made, trash in the room etc. We called the front desk and they sent house keeping in to clean. As house keeping was finishing up, we moved the tv stand to attempt to plug something in the power strip, that's when a family of roaches ran out which made us jump back. The house keeper that was in the room began killing the roaches and sweeping them up. I then went to my other 2 rooms to look behind the tv stand and again found more roaches in one of the rooms. I went and got the house keeper and he went to the front desk to get our rooms switched out. We finally get checked in our new rooms, which is now around 6:30. I look behind the stands and everything seemed to be ok but you could tell that they came and sprayed a lot of bug spray and swept behind the stands. The main issue was the floors were dirty like they hadn't been mopped in weeks but I just dealt with it because I was ready to unpack. I then went to the front desk and asked for some type of compensation for these issues. I was told that they have my issues and name written down and when the manager comes in the next day, she would contact me. Two days later as we're about to go to sleep, here comes about 2 or 3 roaches crawling around on top of the tv stand in one of the rooms. We just recorded them and moved all of our stuff on one of the tables, we didn't have the strength nor energy to move rooms again. The next morning I went to the front desk again to tell them about the new issues and again talk about some type of compensation. This time I was told that the manager has been dealing with a lot of issues on the property so she was not available at the moment but they again took down my complaints. A couple of days go pass and its time to check out, still have not heard anything from the manager. I asked to speak to her before I fully checked out and again she was not available. They told me to give her until Monday July 31st and she should be contacting me. I gave her and extra week and still nothing. I called off and on for 2 weeks but either the lines are busy or they don't answer ( which was one of the issues I had before I checked in and was told they have been having phone issues). We are now here to August 31st and still haven't received a call, compensation...
Read moreThis was a totally gross nightmare. We decided to take a detour to Branson for the night on our way home from Oklahoma to Ohio. We checked into our room and my husband lugged in all of our things and our dog and her crate. Then we realize there is only one bath towel. He went to the office and they don’t have any towels. She just gave him a couple wash cloths and a hand towel!? Hubby brushed his teeth and the water wouldn’t drain out of the sink. He went back to the front desk. I decided to shower and when I closed the bathroom door there was someone’s nightgown hanging on a hook. Did they even bother to clean the room? My husband went back to the front desk and they gave us a different room. So hubby moved all of our stuff back into our van and moved us into the other room. I finally went to shower and when I got in the tub, someone else’s old dirty wash cloth was hanging on the shower curtain rod. There was food or something smeared on the headboard of one of the beds in the room as well. At this point I was so grossed out I was crying because I knew there was no way I could sleep in this dump wondering all night if the sheets were even changed and there was a no cancellation policy for our reservation. Hubby talked to the front desk and explained we would never be able to sleep wondering all night if the sheets were even changed. She gave us a refund and by this time we were so disgusted we left Branson without even seeing or doing anything. We had a few hours to do something before nightfall so we thought we check out Branson to see if we would want to come back for vacation sometime. By the time we were done messing around with this dump of a motel there was no time to see anything anyway and we needed to be on the road early in the morning. So it was a totally wasted trip to Branson due to this nasty place. We found a cute little Airbnb out in the country for $57.00! It was spotless and comfortable. Slept like babies and now we’re back on the road. DON’T STAY HERE IF YOU ARE REMOTELY CONCERNED ABOUT CLEANLINESS. It is nasty. Even the upholstered chairs at the front desk are stained with filth. I will say that Tammy at the front desk was so apologetic and obviously embarrassed. She was put in an untenable position because the housekeeping staff didn’t do their job. I hope head fly but I doubt it. It’s apparent this place’s management is...
