My husband stayed at the Holley House for 2 1/2 weeks. A company in Brewton contracted him to do some work and they chose the Holley House for his accommodations. I did not have to worry about him being away from home for that long, because he definitely found his "home away from home". He was in good hands with Mrs. Debra and her staff. One morning, when he had to be at the plant before the "official" breakfast time, she made him a sausage and egg biscuit to take with him so he wouldn't be without breakfast. Mrs. Debra goes out of her way to make you feel at home and part of her family when you stay at her Holley House. The rooms are all different, which is really charming, and they are clean and comfortable. The living and dining rooms are inviting and you don't feel like you have to hurry. The front porch calls you to sit in one of the rocking chairs and just relax and take it easy. Some of the rooms have their own "private porch" which is an awesome added feature. No doubt about it, the Holley House is the place to stay in Brewton and it is well worth the few extra dollars one has to spend. It is the perfect place for family reunions, wedding receptions, church group weekend retreats, or any other...
Read moreI was born in the building (which is now The Holley House Bed and Breakfast) when it was the only hospital in Escambia County. As I passed by the house many, many times growing up in Brewton, I often wondered how it looked inside. A few years ago, I was happy to hear the building had become The Holley House Bed and Breakfast. I have been living in Mobile County since 1973. Recently, almost every time I would visit in Brewton, I would think how nice it would be to spend my birthday in the building where I was born. My husband and I got to do that this year on October 12th, which was my 72nd birthday. It is such a beautiful place. I chose the Camellia Room since that is where the babies were born. It was very pretty and clean. Deborah was a very good hostess and gave us information on how the room was set up many years ago when the babies were born there, which was very interesting to us. My husband enjoyed the delicious cookies that Deborah baked. We also enjoyed the delicious breakfast of grits, eggs, bacon, biscuits, and strawberries that she prepared. We were well pleased and would highly recommend The Holley House Bed...
Read moreBrewton, Alabama has an old-town charm to it and the Holly House Bed and Breakfast could easily be the flagship for the community. A large, beautifully restored home filled with antiques but featuring all the modern amenities to make any traveler comfortable. Think hardwood floors and thick draperies accompanied with available Wi-Fi and streaming services, old and new together in one setting.
The icing on the cake is your hostess. Deborah doesn’t make you feel at home, she makes you feel like family. Southern hospitality at its very finest, starting with a tour that enlightens visitors to the nuances that this former hospital has seen. Breakfast is superb, not only is it graciously served in a tastefully decorated dining room but lingering with other guests over coffee and juice is encouraged. Deborah will also provide recommendations on restaurants for lunch and dinner if you ask.
All in all, Holly House B&B is a delightful experience and highly...
