Would have been higher if we had not been told that the rv sites all have water and electric. Not true. There are water spigots in a few places, but not at the sites. Several of those were taken by campers nearest the spigot. So if you want to camp do one of the following: A. Fill your fresh water tank and empty your waste tanks before you go. B. Have a long hose so you can fill the fresh water at one of the comfort stations. C. Have several long hoses and a Y connector so you can possibly disconnect the nearest camper, add the Y, then reconnect their hose and connect yours. If you do this your hose(s) will probably be crossing the road. Remember to take the Y when you leave. Also, the dump station is at the top of the hill as you leave. Not a problem unless there are several rvs waiting ahead of you and you are stuck on the hill. All comfort stations are closed at this time, due to the virus. It's a pretty park, just got bad information when we called, so were...
Read moreI love this park. I go walking here quite often. This place has everything! Playgrounds for kids, sport places, trails, and dog parks. I am a big fan of the trails. Nothing too extreme and will take you to some cool spots. I especially love the wetlands area. Great for spotting huge snapping turtles in the water. Just don't try and pet them! (RIP uncle Jim) The only thing that I don't really care for at Sugar Hollow are some of the disc golfers. The disc golf course runs into the walking trails at spots. I have never been hit with a disc or come close, so don't worry about that, but some of these groups feel the need to play music in the woods. This isn't the parks fault. I just wanted to fuss a little about how weird it is to be walking in nature, taking in the sounds of birds and the crunching of leaves and then you hear Wiz Khalifa. So while this park is very pretty in spots, it can sometimes be harder to really immerse yourself...
Read moreI come all the way from South Carolina for a family reunion as I arrived to the park I was notified that there is no more tent camping. I’ve come for years and this is so disappointing. My favorite place in the world to camp and now there’s no tent camping. It is a beautiful park, but I can’t trailer a camper all the way from South Carolina just to come up for a couple nights, very disappointed please resolve this issue Washington County Parks and Recreation. You say the reason you having sites is because of homeless people well you need to control that situation and then reopen the campsites there has to be a way to do it. Others are quite successful at keeping homeless people out of the park by putting limits how many days you stay all kinds of different ways you can handle that . It seems to be discrimination against tent campers and not against homeless people which may be illegal in the...
