Our stay at motel 6 was last minute and the person/representative that helped me set up a reservation was very pleasant. We only stayed for one night. We arrived before 4pm, the room was nice, well kept and clean and the bathroom was a nice size and had hot water and decent water pressure. The beds weren't amazing, but definitely better then an air mattress and couches, which is what we'd been sleeping on for days. We left around 5pm to go out to dinner and take our kids to the park. When we arrived back around 10p we noticed the hall smelled like cigarette smoke and saw ashes all over the hall carpet leading to the room across from us. The location we stayed at was a nonsmoking building. We quickly realized that they had no intentions of quieting down and went to the office to let them know around 11pm, but the elderly lady there pretty much dismissed us saying that it basically always happens. I politely said, but I have children up there and she said she would call and take care of it. Long story short...the whole night they smoked cigarettes in a nonsmoking building and were up all night (I'd assume partying) slamming the door and talking to one another very loudly. My husband went to the office 3 times and complained, but nothing was done and we got no sleep. We ended up staying at another location because we had a 8 an half hour drive and felt the lack of sleep would be to dangerous. I definitely recommend that a staff member patrol the halls at least once late at night... we should have left, but we were so tired and no where to go. The smoke smell was so bad it was in our room even with the door closed. I was most concerned about my daughter's ages 7 and 5 breathing it in all night. My husband was so mad, that he lashed out at the guy in the office in the morning demanding a refund, but of course he wouldn't. I calmed him down and explained that I'm sure the staff there do the best they can. After he calmed down he went and apologized to the guy and in return he gave us $15 back, but with all do respect we won't be returning to that...

The outside of the motel was creepy and dark, with some of the parking lot lights not working. There was an abandoned building with chain link fence around it, and graffiti painted all over. Even so, we decided to give it a chance.
The woman who checked us in was pleasant, and we were initially impressed by the key system security to get into the hallway, then into our room. However, things went way downhill after that. There was what appeared to be a homeless person sleeping in the gazebo at the front of the building, who had a bunch of bags with them. That creeped me out.
Then we got to the room. First impression: ok, it's not awful. 5 minutes later - YES, it is awful. The walls had something that dripped down them and dried on them - maybe coffee? Or something worse?? On the wall near the desk there was a phone number written on the wall in ink.
The bathroom was horrible. There were at least 15 cigarette burns along the sink area, and several on the toilet seat. The tub was badly in need of a very good scrubbing and a new caulking. The water pressure in the toilet was so bad it barely flushed. There was a big splotch of spackle on the wall that was covering some kind of hole, but was never fixed or finished.
The desk drawer was missing a knob to open it. No coffee available in the lobby and no coffee maker.
When we checked out and told the woman at the desk all of this. She was nice and took $20 off our bill. However, we were originally charged $127 for this room, and it wasn't even worthy of being considered a $60 room, so I still feel like we were ripped off.
They should be ashamed of themselves, charging people to stay in a place like this. It was...
Read moreThe lights outside stay on while your trying to sleep. They really should make them motion sensored so its not so bright in the rooms ALL NIGHT. Our microwave broke and when i went to the office to ask for a new one i was told that it was a privilege that we even had a microwave and fridge cause they arent garenteed she said she could move us to another room but if that other room didnt have a microwave or fridge we are beat her words exactly. It smelled like the people in the next room over were smoking pot our whole room and the whole row walking outside reaked.... There was a trashcan in the parking lot RIGHT outside our room and we were there for 3 night and no one changed the bag! People kept trying to throw stuff out there tho and by the last day we were there there was trash hanging out the lid and trash on top and also all arouns and im the parking lot right next to our car!! There also a no pets sign that say a $50 penalty charge will be placed on ur room if they find pets there.... Yet tons have people had dogs with them and nothing was said... Seriously dont care but if they are pet friendly they should really take down the no pets signs so people know.... Oh and we got put over in the hundreds right behind the 7 11 and the gate had graffiti all over it... Just looked so trashy... Bathroom was also too small... And light to the bathroom being on the outaide of the door is stupid... I was scared i was gonna wake my kids up flicking the light on.... They should really extend the wall and make the bathroom sink park of...
