I visited from Branson this weekend and overall we had a good time. The staff seemed friendly enough on the phone. We had asked if we could bring personal kayaks and canoes and they said that would be no problem. I ended up not bringing my own kayak because my car broke down before I left, so we ended up renting one instead. When we arrived at The Landing, the staff was much less accommodating. I didn't personally check in with them, but my friend said they were a little rude. Proces were a little steep, $60 per canoe, $40 for the kayak. We brought our canoe down to get ready for the shuttle, and when it was our turn, we took it to the shuttle and as they were loading there, one guy hollered "we've got a personal canoe we have to fit in there first," and the other guy yelled, "are you serious!?" As if we were a major inconvenience. Once at the drop off, they unloaded everything and I was looking for the kayak we'd rented and didn't see it. We finally realized this little inflatable banana looking raft is what they called a "kayak." With an awkward seat.. or back rest, IDK.. in the back, holes in the bottom, and a paddle that wasn't long enough to use properly unless you were kneeling in it, it was definitely NOT a kayak. Had we known THIS is what we were renting, we would not have paid for something so lame. There was no notice that their kayaks were inflatable online nor in the shop. Now, mind you, I own a Perception Impulse 10.0, a 10' hard plastic KAYAK. We ended up tying the inflatable onto the back of our personal canoe and let the kids ride in there while I bumped one of them out of the front seat of a canoe. The rest of the trip was enjoyable. I've never seen so many people or so many tubes on a river in my life. It was quite a sight. But the water was the perfect temperature, the day was beautiful, and the float was fun. I just wish The Landing had been more clear with their information, because we spent a lot of money renting something we didn't even use. Kayak rentals in Branson are a max of $36 for a day, or less. Those are hard plastic kayaks, including sit-ins and sit-on-tops. So for $40 I expected a lot more than an inflatable...
Read moreWe went here for the church they have in the restaurant called Covenant church. It just launched the beginning of this month. They start at 5 p.m Sunday nights. And if you have kiddos, you can drop them off at the Community center around 4:30 but you will have to pick them up before 7. You can also volunteer for children's church helpers for one Sunday if that's something you'd like to do. Or even if you're on vacation but don't want to miss church this is a great opportunity.for you and the kids.... They'll have a sign in for you and your children at the doors of the community center before you can drop them off and leave to go to our regular service for Covenant church held at the landing . But enjoy service, with no worries because... They lock the doors during their service time and have an officer in the building at all times so no one get sin or out that isn't verified. Just for your piece of mind.
The atmosphere was so welcoming as soon as you walk up to the doors. Friendly smiling faces greeted us and automatically made us feel, like the people there...
Read moreWe were extremely disappointed with the experience here, which happened to be our first (and last). They have so many efficiency opportunities that I don't even know where to start. We were absolutely shocked that we had to wait around 2 HOURS to have our name called and get on a bus to head to the water. The staff acted like this was normal. They loaded a bus about once every 10 minutes, even though there were about 5 vans and 2 buses just sitting there with drivers. We have visited many different floating companies around the state of Missouri and Arkansas and this was by far the worst run and most inefficient one out there. Notes to management: 1) Prepare your new customers by warning them of the extremely long wait time. We could have planned differently had we known a 1-2 hour wait was expected. 2) Quit telling everyone to "make sure you whole party is ready to go as soon as you hand in your ticket". I waited to turn in my ticket until everyone had gone to the bathroom and was standing outside because I thought we would be going right away, which wasted a...
