I had originally picked a hotel in Sioux Falls to stay but ended up needing to be more out west. I called this place (recommended by locals as well) and was immediately warmly greeted and welcomed by the owner, Morgan. This property is even better than a big hotel you can stay at in the city. Secure high-tech digital code locks on the door which was super convenient to book a room and then just enter versus having to wait to check in. The rooms are nice sized and clean with everything you need. Very homey and quaint and well taken care of- it's super cute! Morgan was very friendly and easy to talk to and totally understood my situation. She made sure to give me a room that was up to her standards and was very accommodating with giving me directions, making sure I had everything I needed for my stay, and being so genuine and having a good sense of humor when I talked to her. She has checked in with me during my stay and made me very comfortable. Every time I come out here to visit my friend I plan to stay here again! 10/10...
Read moreDakota Prairie Inn in Canistota S.Dakota - about 20 miles west of Sioux Falls - was a perfect small town family- run motel for my long west/east roadtrip. Canistota is an easy 5 miles south of I-90. It was so pleasant on my trip west, l stayed there again returning home. On the edge of Canistota, it was quiet & peaceful, compared with larger towns with a noisy Motel 6 or Super 8 and crowded parking lots hundreds of feet away from your vehicle. I believe the rooms were renovated & updated since Morgan & her family took ownership recently, with all amenities you need -- they are very clean & are reasonable priced. Manager Morgan is a wonderful & considerate person - she was patient with my changing reservation dates and a delight to interact with. I would heartily recommend Dakota Prairie Inn as a restful stay on a trip through this area of...
Read moreI highly recommend this place. You cannot find another manager that is more friendly, helpful and lovely like the owner of this motel. I was impressed by how welcoming and caring she was. The room is vintage yet cosy. The bed is super comfy. I also love the jacuzzi tub. I was a bit scared when a spider appeared in my room, but it is just my own fear. It is also understandable because this town is surrounded by nature. Anyway, the room is very clean and I have no issue with sanitary. It is quiet and safe here. It is so peaceful and enjoyable to purchase some fruit from the nearby grocery store and enjoy it in the outdoor gazebo with the gentle sunshine and wind. 1 day at this motel is one of the best days in my...
