This motel was really dirty. When we arrived we were told there would be a continental breakfast and that checkout would be 11 am on the day of our departure. We walked into very small, dirty rooms. The toilets had not been cleaned, the sink had hair in it and the shower curtain looked ragged. We didn’t even want to shower without our shower shoes because the floor of the shower was so grime-y.
When we turned down the beds, there was hair on one of the beds. The floors were so dirty, they discolored our socks. Everything in the rooms were very dusty. I laid my daughter on the bed and a bug crawled out from under the sheets.
The next morning when we went to get breakfast, there were open plastic containers of cereal, fruit and packaged pastries. We were told at the very least there would be donuts. There was hardly anything there at 7:30 am and when we went back, there was even less so nothing was ever restocked.
We never had towels or toilet paper restocked and the beds were never even made. Every towel we opened had a long piece of hair in it and the last bathmat we asked for had something akin to vomit on it. When I returned the towels to the office, the girl looked confused and told me that was the bathmat. I handed them back and told her they were completely unused by us and we were given them that way. She retreated to the back for 5 minutes only to come back with towels that also had hair in them.
On departure day, we were called at 10:02 am and asked if we were planning to stay another night. We declined and said we were packing and would return keys by 11 am. She promptly told us checkout was 10 am. We left as quickly as we could as to not be charged another night. We were misinformed.
When we left, we waited in the parking lot to figure out where to kill time since we left earlier than planned. We watched the office girl go in the room without a cart and after a few minutes came out without the dirty sheets, towels and definitely didn’t go in with any cleaning supplies. We obviously aren’t sure if she would go back later to clean but we assumed it was highly unlikely since the room was dirty when we arrived.
Won’t be staying again and wouldn’t recommend this to...
Read moreThe location is near downtown type area of Canyon. The parking makes no sense and is not big enough for anything bigger than a standard pickup truck...barely. The room was mostly clean although there was a strange smell when we entered and a large weird spot on the bathroom wall. The smoke detector was missing and the spot for it had cobwebs so it had not been there for some time. The soap dispensers barely had soap in them. The TV was a smart tv but had nothing downloaded on it and you could not hear it. We turned it up to 100 and you still could barely hear it from the bed. The remote back where the batteries sit was broken off. The drawer where the Bible sits was sticky to the point where the Bible was litterally stuck. The AC worked well and so did the blinds. The mattress is EXTREMELY firm. We were exhausted from our travels or we would not have been able to sleep on it. No one was at the office (except check in) anytime we tried to get any assistance including checking out at 7 am. We left and got a random text message 3 hours later stating that we were going to be charged and additional $35 each night we stayed because they don't allow pets and it came to their attention that we brought one. Problem is, we didn't have a pet. We took great care to schedule a sitter for ours when we left home and did not have room for one in our vehicle. When my husband asked why they would even think so they stated that the room smelled and there was lots of hair... my daughter and I have butt length hair but I couldn't imagine that would constitute an animal. To say we smell is just exceptionally RUDE! When we tried to tell them that we would drive back (halfway through our 6 hour trip back home) to show them we didn't have one they refused and said they were going to call the police! Absolutely wild. Would not recommend as you can get a nicer one for the same price in the area that actually cares about their travelers...
Read moreHow do I start….. yes, I knew before staying here it was an old motel. I am not afraid of “old”. You can tell they have tried to spiff up the place considering it’s age. However, it does not matter how old a place is, it can still and should be made to be CLEAN. This place was NOT clean. I stayed here 3 nights. The shower had someone else’s hair in the drain and on the walls. The bathroom/shower floors…I felt like I had to keep towels down on the entire length of it. I did NOT dare to walk barefoot anywhere in the room. There were spider webs all in the corners and spiders on the shower curtain. Also, the shower curtain was nasty. The bed sheets seemed (I hope) to be cleanest of the entire room. I am thankful I brought my own blankets, as I was afraid to use the bed cover. After my first night here, we were out all the next day…..when we returned that evening, I am assuming it was the cleaning staff that came in to “tidy up” and leave clean towels…..when I walked in, you could see where there was boot marks from wet/dirty boots had tracked all the way in and through the bathroom. Which made the floors even dirtier. 🤮 The staff was nice and friendly and was prompt in getting me more towels. The price per night was in my budget and they give a slight discount if your in town for the college kids. But I am also one who does not like to spend more than $100 a day on a room. And I have always been able to find rooms, even at old places, that are much cleaner than this place and stay in budget. However, when we return in a few months to move my student into the dorms…..unfortunately, I will not...
