From day 0 to leaving Dove's Rest Cabins - we had the Durango - was outstanding. Communication with them was perfect. The property is well taken care of and has a totally secure entry date. The Durango cabin has a large master - with attached bathroom. The kitchen is large and so is the living room. A second bathroom off the kitchen does connect to the master's bathroom - and the shower is shared - so a Jack and Jill set-up. Very convenient. There is a large sleeper sofa in the living room. So - it would work for a small family.|Everything in the cabin was perfect and just what you need. Everything worked and was easy to operate. We did cook - stove, oven, microwave, and Weber grill worked perfectly. |There is a large window in the bedroom and living room that look into Palo Duro Canyon. And the door outside of the living room takes you right to the canyon itself.|Views of sunrise and the canyon are spectacular. Check the stars at night too.|This cabin has very good privacy.|We did plenty of walking around the property and there are safe, clean trails. |Wildlife - we saw a roadrunner, jackrabbit, audads, mule deer, a horned toad, and horses. There are working corn feeders on the grounds so you'll see the audad family!|The iron artwork is a real plus! |Overall - Dove's Rest was a 5/5 - great place.|Canyon is around a 15 minute drive - go there to eat at Feldman's or Buzzy Bee - or - you can get a good quick bite at the Sad Monkey - really close!|We did the Jeep/Hummer tour - maybe a five minute drive from Dove's Rest. The tour led by Case was tons of fun! Wonderful views - stories - and experience - highly recommended.|I've written a long review because this place is just so darned good!|Enjoy! Would be go back...

The absolute best place to stay! This cabin was private, but still within 15 minutes drive to just about anything you would need. It’s even closer to tons of activities....less than 10 minutes from Palo Duro State Park, horseback riding, zip lining, and local farmers.
The Cabin itself....hade everything that is reasonably expected. Bathrooms had soap, conditioner, towels, etc. Kitchen was stocked with everything except your actual food, including silverware, pots, pans, spices, even coffee. It was nice to have a dishwasher and even clothes washer for our 4 day, 3night stay.
The firewood was put to great use on chilly nights and the WiFi and cable made winding down easy!
The outdoor grill, hot tub, and great patio are just added bonus to your stay!
Now, the REAL reason you stay here...the views and being right on the edge of Palo Duro Canyon makes you realize how awesom Texas really is!
We were lucky enough to see wildlife and experience the feeling of solitude while there.
Staying at the Fortress was easy and relaxing and I’d recommend...
Read more⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ First and foremost, this place is absolutely gorgeous. I couldn’t have dreamt of a more stunning view, with the house perfectly positioned to overlook the breathtaking canyons. Watching the sunrise and set over the canyons was an unforgettable experience. Communication was on point from the time of reservation until check out. The house was clean, comfortable, and equipped with every necessity we needed during our stay. Our furry friend also enjoyed his stay immensely! We were also surprised by such a sweet gift upon opening the refrigerator, a box of chocolates, bottle of champagne, sparkling juice and two complimentary Doves Rest glass champagne flutes. We loved lounging in the swing chairs outside and relaxing in the Adirondack chairs while using the gas grill for our dinners. Without hesitation, I would highly recommend Doves Rest Cabins Fortress house and can’t wait to...
