We stayed at this hotel for more than a week in early May. Everything was great - until it wasn't. Suddenly we began to see charges on our account posted from the hotel; charges in the excess of $700. We talked to the hotel staff; they denied any wrongdoing. We contacted Wyndham; they told us to we had to talk to the hotel. In the evening of 5/6 we went to get coffee from the reception area and talked about the police report we had to file per the bank's request in case the bank had to file criminal charges. Brittany, one of the receptionist, yelled from the back office, "I don't appreciate you talking about that, why don't you just leave!" We were both rather shocked at her outburst; why was she so angry about it? Our money was stolen and she's mad at us? She called us four times in 20 min after we returned to our room. We didn't answer. Why would we? To get more abuse heaped on us from the receptionist? No thanks. We contacted Wyndham again - nothing. The next day I went to get more coffee and Brittany asked to talk to me. She told me, "We talked and we all agree, you need to leave." I told her she was being disrespectful and she didn't need to talk to me the way she did (she was rude and condescending). Her reply, "My brother is a cop, I'll call him if you don't leave." Someone at their hotel steals money from us and they'll call the police on us? Really? We left. Later that night we get an email from the hotel telling us the $300 charge was a deposit. We had heard this before from Brittany, but how strange her comment was as the manager had told me the day before they don't take deposits. Nothing about the event passes the smell test. Thankfully Wyndham provided the owner's information and we have contacted him. But as we haven't heard back, we're going to court as it appears we can't get our money back any other way. So stay if you want your money gone and your time wasted. It's what...
Read moreI stayed one night at this hotel because the price was right and I just needed a night's sleep on my way up Hwy. 5. Still, if I'm going to spend money and hopefully get some sleep, I have some expectations. Here are my personal pros and cons for this Travelodge for if you're considering this establishment:||Pros: Clean, comfortable bed (not fancy but comfortable). Nice, thick sheets. Bathroom sparse but clean. Towels clean. Carpeting in room is soft. Flatscreen TV and remote worked fine. Thick walls and doors that do not automatically slam shut so peaceful considering near the highway. Gas station right next door so could fill up for the next leg of my journey. Price for one night was reasonable.||Cons: Dirty, decrepit parking lot and exterior entrance. Trash, dust, crumbling asphalt. Also dirty and very worn down "lobby" area. No soda machine and the 'snacks' on sale on a shelf were a choice of one unhealthy offering for a high price after another. Windows on first floor (where my room was) are also filthy so when you let in light in the morning, you see grime and its depressing. Some surfaces in room have not been wiped down. Ick. Coffee maker that sits on desk cannot be plugged in there so you have to move it to the bathroom to plug it in and use it. With a small bathroom counter, this is annoying but at least there's a coffee pot.||Summary: While one can get a good night's sleep, the 'experience' is one of dirt and grime and worn out. The owner should invest in new asphalt for the parking lot, an update to the entrance and lobby and add window cleaning...
Read moreAwesome experience back in Nov 2014. We just needed a place to sleep while we spent our hard earned money at the Casino. This motel is definitely budget, but it is clean and in good repair. The rate was awesome and included all taxes at a flat dollar amount. I felt safe at the motel and the floorplan almost feels like you are in a friendly dormitory. The staff was friendly and all speak great english (bonus for a budget motel). I think there may have been some goodies in the morning, but we sure were not awake to enjoy them! Best of all is the casino shuttle 24/7. We didn't have to wait more than 5 minutes going either way and it was from door to door! No walking across the parking lot in the rain and we tipped the same as valet parking - but no risk of valet parking filling up on a Friday or Saturday night. I just made another reservation to stay there again in...
