We are part of a traveling baseball organization. so we tend to be on the road and staying in hotels more than your normal families. We attend many baseball tournaments that are hosted and are synonymous with the terms "stay to play"...that being said ...for a host of such an event you would assume the hotel /staff in such an arrangement would be kid friendly!! Nope!! Not in this case..kids/ teams full of adolescent boys/and their siblings can be kind of rowdy at times. While I find it takes a village to raise well rounded children into well rounded adults.. I on the other hand do not find it EVER appropriate or PROFESSIONAL to SCREAM.. and I mean SCREAM.. at a customers child(very young child) while the parent is already ACTIVELY addressing the situation ..and when you frankly reassure that member of staff that the situation is obviously already being handled.. they then .. AGAIN !!..proceed to do the same thing within a 10 minute period of time! The 4 yr old was only being a normal Lil kid!! He was not running around without supervision..nor was he being destructive to any of the hotels property..he merely climbed up and sat on the backrest part of a booth... and like stated previously was already being acknowledged and redirected by one of his parents. I've Never had someone scream at my child like that before, while I'm literally already addressing the situation. I could actually be very understanding if the situation/ circumstances were that of my child or any child for that matter, endangering their personal safety or damaging hotel property!! However, that was not the case!! I really hate writing this review because the hotel itself was very clean and very nice..but it's amazing how one individual with a poor attitude and unprofessional manner of handling things can ruin an experience.. especially with a place that has esteemed and associated itself with a sport that involves nothing but children of varying ages and...
Read moreWe were supposed to stay at Marriot Courtyard in Cartersville July 26th thru July 31st. We called in early July and booked with a night manager. We had asked if they would match a rate that a local baseball tournament provide had through their site. (Could not book through them because a couple of the days were not available). After the employee (Jason maybe?) looked for awhile he said he could do even better. He gave us a better rate and said we would need to pay up front and could not cancel. We agreed and gave him our credit card information. We received an email confirmation for the reservation and the rate. Fast forward a couple weeks and we show up to the hotel. When I get there I am asked for my ID, Credit Card and government ID. I explain to them that I am not a government employee. Then the front desk employee explains to me that I was given a government rate therefore needed an ID. I told her that I never stated I was a government employee and the gentlemen that gave us the rate gave us no such indication that the rate given to us had any such requirements. The front desk employee called the manager over and she gave us the same speech. They refused to give us the rate that was originally given to us by the person we spoke to when we booked. We explained how we thought it was not a customer issue but a company issue and they should honor the rate given. Whether that was a mistake or not as a company you acknowledge this was an internal problem and do right by the customer. Nope. She just looked at us with a blank stare and said "I am sorry". Never again will I stay...
Read morePlease Read… In the past couple years, my wife and I and some of our family members, have stayed at this Courtyard by Marriott in Cartersville. Probably 6-12 times. The staff always treats you with kindness and respect, UNTIL THIS EVENING or tonight. My wife always calls and books our stay ahead of time, and being a retired deputy/officer, and senior citizen, Marriott recognized my service, by giving us a discounted rate, which is much appreciated. Tonight, September 13, 2024 when we arrived at 10:20pm, (22:20 hrs), my wife was grilled by the front desk attendant “Jason”. With an attitude, he requested, “who gave you this rate”. He stated, with an attitude, you won’t get this rate again. Then he began to rambled on (with an attitude), how he was a retired firefighter, and he only received discounted rates, when he was actively on the job. Myself, I don’t know how he got a job at this wonderful motel, with his attitude towards us, the patrons. I was going to say something to him, but my wife asked me not to. I hope the management or corporate office, has a serious talk with this employee. This is truly a nice and friendly place to stay. The other staff, besides (this man), is so professional and courteous. But, we both could have done without “Jason’s” attitude. I truly apologize for submitting this review, because this is such a great hotel… but I just had...
