BUYER BEWARE
You had better make double sure you are buying exactly what you want. Or make super sure your significant other (wife, husband, etc.) wants what you're buying. There are NO REFUNDS whatsoever. They will offer store credit, but if you're like me and don't wear a lot of jewelry then you're pretty much S.O.L. Also, you could give it as a gift to someone else.... Buuuut, my family all live out of state and don't really wear jewelry either...
Now, that being said, the employees that I spoke with - including the owner (husband talked to him) - were all extremely friendly. Unfortunately I'm stuck with a $250 necklace chain that is too short (and that I did not want to begin with).
Lets give you, the reader, a little backstory... It was the middle of November when he asked what I would like for Christmas this year. I took to Amazon with a frenzy. My list was chocked full of anything from a spice rack on up to a new living room set and everything in between... Heck, I even consolidated lists from previous years with the new things I was picking out (there were close to 50 things to choose from - all I would have been happy to receive). However, on December 24th is when he finally did his Christmas shopping... I dreaded it when I saw the charge from this company... But, hey, he did a good job last year - I should have nothing to fear...
Christmas morning......... I opened the box and had to hold back tears from what was in it. A $250 necklace chain.... Why did it hit so hard? I should be thankful he got anything at all... Don't get me wrong, the sentiment was nice.... But I have had this happen so many times before.... "What would you like?" they ask. "Gift cards or here's a list". I'm a pretty simple gal really.... Mainly because MOST places offer returns and refunds... Unfortunately, it looks like I'm off to a different jewelry store or a pawn shop to try and recoup some of the money that has been lost to Cartersville Jewelry Exchange...
Just wanted to close with a reiteration that the staff were all nice - unfortunately I do not agree with their return/exchange policy. When asked why it was this way - it's because they do not have a gemologist or metal(ologist?) on site and would not be able to tell if the piece your selling to them or returning is actual real jewelry and not costume pieces... Now, that being said, what if I had taken and replaced the gold necklace chain I had purchased with costume jewelry and then came in and exchanged it for an item for the same price? Wouldn't you be out that amount of money anyway? Heck, we even offered for them to basically buy the item from us, but was told that they wouldn't do that either. Seems odd to me. I wouldn't mind taking a hit of $50-$75 seeing as how you would make that much once you sold it to another person, but hey, that's just me.
So, be careful, and I would recommend shopping where you can get your money back if...
Read moreTerrible customer service. I have been attempting to get a quote from them for several weeks. I sent them specs on 2 different rings that I needed for a 25th wedding anniversary. The first ring was around a $10,000.00 ring. They drug their feet on this quote and I finally had to go to another jeweler. A jeweler, by the way who immediately responded to my request and had me a quote and cad of the ring in question and very quickly responded to any questions I asked. Although I am very happy with that jeweler, I figured I would give CJE another shot, because customer loyalty means something to me so I sent them specs for the 2nd ring. Again, they reached out and again they are dragging their feet. They told me to come in and look at the selection and we can go from there. As I explained to them, the entire reason I sent the very detailed specifications and picture of what I needed was so that they could compare what they have, or have a ring made, and give me a quote. I work 12 hr shifts pretty much every day. I do not have the luxury of taking a day off to come into the showroom and look through their selection. I explained this to them again and asked if they could maybe compare the specs/pic I sent with what they have in inventory and send me a pic......That was a week ago....and still no reply. My family has been using CJE for many years. Looks like that relationship maybe coming to an end. If you do not care for my business, that is fine. But please show me the common courtesy of replying to our ongoing conversation and tell me that you are too busy to bother with me. I understand that I am not the only customer they have to tend to. I understand that life happens , people take days off and have vacations, etc. But at the very least someone should follow up with a quick reply stating that "we are too busy to deal with you" or "I'm sorry, but I'll be out of the store and unable to handle your request" at which time they can pass the very simple request on to someone who can...
Read moreI had a very special bracelet come apart on me. I say come apart, because it was morse code for ** cancer on a somewhat thick string with a bead at the bottom where the two string ends were inserted. To loosen it or tighten it, you utilized the little silver bead. I ended up pulling one side of the string out. My friends and I tried everything to fix it, from pins, needles, wire, it was hopeless. My bracelet was ruined. That string was never going back in. Fast forward a couple of months and I decided, what the heck? I’ll take it to Jewelry Exchange. A friendly young lady by the name of Deanna greeted me. She said she would try. I told her that if she couldn’t, I wouldn’t be upset, because it would take a miracle to fix it. I received a call a few days later. I was expecting to hear a very disappointed Deanna telling me that she couldn’t fix it. I was wrong. A very happy Deanna told me that my bracelet was fixed and ready to pick up. I cried!!! That special bracelet was given to me by my wonderful niece when my cancer journey began. It wasn’t silver or gold, but to me it was worth millions. Thank you Deanna and Cartersville Jewelery Exchange for making my miracle happen. Although I would have paid anything for the repair, it was very affordable. Again, THANK YOU. I am...
