I’m not one to normally complain and leave bad reviews, but something needs to be said about our room (Mimi’s Place #811). First off only 1/4 TV’s actually worked and then one that did would continuously go in and out every 30 seconds. We called on our second day here and was told we would receive a call back when the repairman was on his way and we never received a call and the repairman never came. The towel rack fell off of the wall in our bathroom. The shower curtains had mold growing on them. Pieces of the lampshade covered the floor upon arrival. They took the box spring off of one bed and used it in another bed frame and left the mattress to make 2 beds out of one which felt like sleeping on bricks. Worst of all we couldn’t even enjoy our balcony because the furniture was so rusty that you would need a tetanus shot to set in it. Not really a big deal, but the walls have scuffs and marks all over them in every room. Seems very outdated to be 2019 and as if the place doesn’t really care about their customers. We will not be returning.

We stayed in #812 it was very beautiful, nicely decorated and up to date-ish. The only 2 things were that for some reason there were shards of glass all over the floor when we checked in and the A/C stopped working the day before we left. The views of the beach were totally great though!. Great access to the beach and the pool was nice as well. Kind of expensive for only 2 days but

We stay here every year around the 4th of July..Prices are reasonable and the view is awesome. Great family beach. Come stay a week and you will returned refreshed for sure. Love the small town feeling and everyone treats you like you are a local. We have been coming multiple times a year for over 11 years now.

The Island, community, restaurants, seafood shop and retail shops are very nice. The pier fishing was wonderful! The rental unit has a beautiful view and was fairly clean. On the flip side, the enterior was very outdated with old cabinets, appliances, furnishings and decor. We had to wash anything before using it for meal prep because everything was dirty. The beds weren't comfortable. There were no comforters or bedspreads and I went and bought a blanket and used towels since it was unseasonably cold and rainy while we were there. No how to or instructions for use of TV or anything within the unit for that matter, so be ready to waste some of your vacation figuring out how to operate stuff. I never understood all the mismatched, puzzled rugs in the balcony that were nasty when we arrived and stayed soaking wet all week long, so you couldn't go out without shoes. The clutter of chairs and toys allowed tight quarters for enjoying the balcony. The low flow shower head was a pain! It has never taken me so long to shower! Why would there be a sink in the second bedroom with no light above it to see what you are doing? We finally located the dumpsters mid-week which were not conveniently located. The previous renters linens bag remained outside of the door until the a day or two before we left. The entrance of the catwalk from the parking lot to the beach remained under mid chin deep water all but the last day we were there, so it wasn't too nice going to stroll the beach after returning from dinner. We struggled with the temperamental, push button door lock that needs to be replaced! There is no assigned parking so even though you pay for ocean front units you aren't going to get to park real close to them, much less underneath! The pool was closed the entire week of our vacation and no one had the decency to tell us which is sad that I specifically rented and paid more for a condo with that eminity. We drove to tour the forts to find they were closed the entire week because of a school camp - something else I think should have been shared since it is a main attraction on Oak Island. The beach is very crowded! Surprisingly clean since there isn't a single trash reception anywhere on the beach, which would have been nice. Dogs are to be leashed but few abide by the rule and it isn't enforced. I learned you must ask many questions to prevent being...

I’m in doubt the villa my daughter booked and paid for was even cleaned we were extremely disappointed to begin with everything in the kitchen cupboards had to be washed before we could use anything plus everything was just thrown into cabinets in such disarray leftover paper towels to line the cupboards that appeared to have been left we’re tattered from previous guest stay the patio was disgusting the pillows were stained and very nasty trash from whoever stayed before our check in the washer/dryer was very dirty and did not work properly left over maintenance materials in the closet and kitchen cabinets plus a huge piece or glass glass sitting in the closet that would seem a safety hazard or legal issues the overall appearance of the property was ok needs landscaping possibly painting in some areas to spruce up overall impression the refrigerator smelled of a strong bleach odor the range was dirty as well and no one has yet to reach out to my daughter even after my call to view my concerns mold in the bedroom window sill and the slider door track disgusting dust on top of window in bedroom just filthy and...

We just returned from Oak Island and stayed in OIBV 203. It is referred to as "Amazing View" . Indeed, it does have an amazing view but in my opinion that is all it offers. When you arrive the outside looks well kept and updated. Our particular unit (203) was more expensive than some of the others so I was expecting a really nice condo. It was a total disappointment. The LR furniture was so worn and unclean appearing that we spent our entire trip either sitting in kitchen chairs or chairs outside on deck. The bed was questionable. I did not see anything obvious but there was a mattress protector and I was so uncomfortable, not only did I leave my pillows there but I washed everything before leaving and again upon coming home. Everything was dusty and felt dirty!!!!! Bathroom floor had hairs from previous owners. If I were the owners to this particular unit I would be furious or embarrassed. We spent over $800.00 for 4 nights (the same rate for a week rental this time of year). It was our first trip to OI and hoping to save someone else the disappointment. Last note the view and proximity to...
