Cecil Fireside Inn — Hotel in Cecil

Do not waste your money on staying here if you have kids or plan on enjoying yourself. We were supposed to stay there for Easter weekend with our family. (8 rooms and almost 30 people) we were there less than an hour and the man and woman running it were extremely rude and had a list of rules that were unreal! (4 people in the hot tub 10 in the pool) just to name one of them. We were there less than two hours and got yelled at 4 times for petty things and we packed up and ended up eating our deposits and went into Green Bay where we actually enjoyed our weekend. It’s a great place to stay if you like a 1970s feel because that was obviously the last time anything was updated there and you like feeling like your under a microscope because the two managers-owners were glued to the windows watching for anything they could to come out and yell about. Don’t waste your time or money with this dump, make the trip into shawano or Green Bay if you want to enjoy yourself. They also kept both nights of our deposits even tho they had 24 hours notice of the second night and refused to give back a deposit for one of the rooms that we had to cancel a week prior to our planned stay because someone backed out. On top of them keeping the deposit it says right in there policy that it’s $25 a night for deposit and they charge us $35 a night per room per night. Our family has been spending our Christmases at this establishment for the past 18 years, prior to this year it has been a great and memorable experience. Prior to this year it was not a question as to where we were spending this same weekend, however, this year things went all kinds of horrible the individuals that are managing this business were very unprofessional telling us that according to the owner of the motel we were not allowed to play, even moderately loud music in the atrium, apparently just this Saturday, something we have been doing for the past 17 years, and having a great family experience and meeting up with a lot of other families and enjoying our time together. Also the other group of families that was here was enjoying our music along with us, we were the only two families in the the building. This year was as bad of an experience as we could have had, along with the occupants of the rest of the motel. Our family as well as the other people staying here will never return to this motel. There are plenty of other places around the Cecil and Shawano area please take my advice and stay anywhere else!! ||I only gave it 1 star...
