This location has been open for exactly 30 days as of today. They are one of the few hotels in the area that actually has a hot breakfast. The staff is so professional, welcoming, and knowledgeable. The rooms are very clean, the beds (probably because they're new) are very comfortable, the sheets are very comfortable, and the rooms are a great size. you can't beat the amenities once you get inside the room. There is a 65-in Samsung TV that is amazing. There is a desk for those that like to work from their room. The bathrooms have walk-in showers. The hot water in the bathroom is very quick you never have to wait on hot water. there is plenty of storage space for your clothes if you are here for more than one night. There is also plenty of space downstairs if you just need to get out of your room and want to hang out. The pool isn't big but it gets the job done. There is a small store (located at check in counter) if you need to grab a beer, small bottle of wine, a Coke, or snacks. currently the bar is not open at this location but there is a restaurant down the road that is very convenient. This location is attached to the Tru hotel so the staff are shared. This hotel does offer adjoining rooms if that is something that you need for your family or friends. There are three elevators so that you never have to wait. There is plenty of parking in the parking lot so there should never be an issue finding a spot. I can't say enough about the small details of this hotel and how it has made my stay very comfortable and easy. I will inform you that because it's a combined hotel, currently the Hampton side is closed off. Be aware that the demographic for Tru customers is younger and there will be a lot of younger guests utilizing the pool table, watching TV, and hanging in the lobby. I started in my room which was cozy and...
Read moreThe hotel, front desk, room, and breakfast were all great. However, our experience with the airport shuttle was awful. We waited outside the airport for the shuttle with another couple. Our shuttle arrived at 7:37 am and after the arriving passengers unloaded, we started to board the van. The driver told us no and shut the door. He said "the other one is coming behind me". He left with an empty van and drove back to the hotel alone while we stood on the sidewalk for another 30 mins (45 mins total waiting) until he came back with another load of passengers from the hotel. During the 30 mins standing there, the other couple called the hotel to inquire why the van driver left us there and drove back with an empty van. When the driver (who told us to wait on the next van, which never came) showed up 30 mins later, he was mad that "someone called the front desk about him". He didn't apologize at all. He was angry and said that the other driver from Hampton Inn should have picked us up and he himself works at Hilton. The name Hampton Inn Lake Pointe is on the shuttle, so I don't understand why he drove back alone and left us standing there for 30 min. He said it was because the other guy would be mad he "took his guests". He called the other driver to confront him while driving us to the hotel. He was angry that he had been reported to the front desk. Then he drove like a bat out of hell because he was mad and it scared us. The driver from Hampton Inn told him he just didn't make his round even though they were supposed to come then. I think if the driver would have just apologized for the misunderstanding, we wouldn't have been as upset. But it only got worse from that point. The erratic driving was scary and at one point, due to construction the lane was blocked and he made...
Read moreThe room was cool and clean. It featured a microwave and mini-fridge. There were several outlets by the bed and the mattress was very firm. The bathroom featured a shower/tub combo. Water pressure was okay. The floor of the shower was very slippery and was made even more so when it was covered with soap. There were no grab bars for safety so, if you have stability issues, you might want to consider going somewhere else. The hotel had a small market by the front desk and also offered a complimentary breakfast. There was complimentary parking on the premises. I received an email from Hampton Inn prior to my arrival that said, "Our complimentary Airport Shuttle runs by request 24 hours a day. After you collect your belongings at Baggage Claim, call the hotel directly at 980-312-5603 to schedule a pick-up. Follow the Ground Transportation Signs to 'Zone 1' and look for the Hotel Shuttle pick-up zones." When I called the hotel, however, there was no answer and my call went to a voicemail box that was full. I ended up taking a taxi to the hotel (my Uber app was having problems). At check-in, I was the only guest there with two people working the front desk. They may have both been busy, though, when I called. All of this to say not to count on the shuttle from the airport to the hotel. So, while that effort was unsuccessful, I was able to take the shuttle from the hotel back to the airport a few days later. Just remember to reserve a spot on it the day before your departure. I probably will not stay there again simply because of my own stability issues and the fact that the shower had a very slippery floor but no safety grab bar. Outside of that, the hotel seems to be well kept and it is convenient to...
