My best friend and I decided to take a trip to Vermont to see the colors of the fall season. We decided to stay at the Franklyn Farm Inn as it looked like a beautiful establishment in a perfect location. We were not disappointed! The owners were so personable and friendly! They welcomed us as if we were old friends or family. The Inn, built in the 1700’s, was absolutely charming! The decor was beautiful and comfortable. Everything we could ever need was available. The Farm itself was full of walking paths, places to sit and enjoy the scenery, and there were many bubbling springs to look at an listen to throughout the property. Our hosts were available at all times to answer questions, give suggestions, and tell us about the history of the area. And the food? Oh, yes, the food! Coffee, tea, and cocoa, along with homemade cookies and muffins, were always set out for guests to enjoy at leisure. Breakfast included yogurt with fruit and granola each morning, along with bacon and French toast one day and breakfast casserole and orange cinnamon rolls the next day. Excellent homemade cooking! I would highly recommend the Franklyn Farm Inn for a...
Read moreOur primary reason for visiting the area was to attend the Springfield Rotary’s Annual Penny Sale (their 70th year hosting). However we were blessed with a gloriously beautiful weekend weather wise (daytime temps hovering around 70 degrees) and a lovely stay at the Franklyn Farm Inn. The inn has an illustrious pedigree, as it began life in the 1700s. The owner Nate can give you a tour and tell you the history of the inn. We loved our sweet little room, shower with plenty of hot water and generous breakfasts at the large community table (we met a very interesting gentleman from Mexico City who was hiking with his daughter). Keep in mind that this is a bed and breakfast, not a hotel. We did not have a TV in our room (there is one in one of the common areas). But it suited our needs perfectly and...
Read moreComing to see friends who were hosting a campout weekend on their family's property, we decided to skip the tenting experience and instead stayed at this lovely Inn only a few minutes away. We found it to be very comfortable and the host and hostess were very nice people who made us feel welcome, almost as though we'd known them a long time. The decor is tastefully done and appropriate for a well built and cared-for Vermont Inn in beautiful surroundings. The Inn's address is on the historic Green Mountain Turnpike that once took people between New England and Canada but today it's a quiet country road near the town center of beautiful Chester Vermont. In a few words: this is a great place to stay if you come to this area; we look forward to staying here again the next time...
