Pizza Stone is so quintessential VERMONT and if that's the vibe you are going for, then you will also rate this place 5 stars!!! It is a super eclectic, barn-ish, thrift-loving, earthy, chill atmosphere with some of the best pizza, wings and beer around! The salads are pretty awesome, too! They try to source locally, so you will get a nice variety of Vermont drinks and foods. The pizza crust is thin and crispy/chewy in the best of ways... with specialty designed topping combos like the Hey Zeus or Maple Tang! They also have gluten free options and plenty of vegetarian choices. Come as you are and you will feel welcomed! The service is friendly and hard working - you will see everyone helping out as host, bartender, and wait staff. They have live music sometimes, too, but get there early because it gets packed!

Was craving good pizza on our drive back to NY from the white mountains. Found this place was on our route home and it was EXACTLY what I was craving! Yum yum yum. For those of you that are self-proclaimed pizza snobs (who isn't?), this place nailed everything. Menu 👍 good beer 👍 great menu (wings, apps, pizzas or build your own pizza) 👍, and the actual pizza itself 👌. Perfect crust (thin, stone fired), amazing high quality cheese, and fantastic sauce and toppings. Check it out, it's probably exactly what you're looking for!

We went in not expecting anything other than ordinary from the simple exterior, and were seated with a table and chairs and live music near us. ..…. But THEN the food arrived. We got the spin dip and the VT Homegrown pizza pie…. And OMG. Don’t let the simple exterior fool you, this was THE BEST PIZZA we have ever had in our lives! The music was good and laid back, the service was good, and the food was incomparable. Will def be back the next time we’re in VT! TY for an amazing dinner and evening! :-)

I have been here a couple times. We arrived at 5:25 p.m. Put our order in at 5:40 and Received our pizza two hours and ten minutes after placing the order. Our friends brought their baby with them and we were thinking this would be an early night because of the baby. Waiting over two ours for two pizzas while watching people in larger parties come and go was maddening. The waitress checked in once asking if we had received our pizzas....duh...if you didn't put it on our table we didn't receive it. She came back much later and told us there was a problem that the orders was not entered and now what we ordered couldn't be completely filled because they ran out of pulled pork!!! Wanted to know what we wanted to do. We asked what we could substitute it with and she was clearly annoyed that we asked. All we received was excuses. We are slammed. With people adding so much into the computer something must have happened. Then we were told they were going to "rush" our order and our pizza would be out next. We watched four pizzas go out but they were not ours. So we waited. When the pizza came out the waitress told us that she was going to "take a little off this pizza because there was no pulled pork"! What???????? A little off the tab???? Seriously? We waited over two hours and you are going to take a little off. We questioned why we would be charged at all. She got bitchy with us and said she would talk to the owner because she could not decide that. About ten minutes later she said the owner would come over once the band took a break. We waited about twenty minutes but had to leave because it was very late for the baby and the band was sooooo loud we could carry a conversation. When the owner saw us getting up she came over and continued to make excuses and was very rude saying she "couldn't have eyes everywhere in the restaurant!" Then asked what the problem was etc. we told her we would pay for the wings and the drinks but didn't think we should pay for the pizza. She agreed and continued to make excuses. Pizza was okay. I have had pizza there in the past and it was much better but I think the "rush" on the order made it suffer. Probably won't go back again. Very...

I wouldn't even give them one star, but I couldn't write a review without it unfortunately. My husband, son, and, ordered cheesy breadsticks, two pizzas (one cheese, one pepperoni), buffalo wings, and salad. I specifically asked if there were black olives in the salad, she said there was, and I asked for them to hold the black olives. I was read back my order, everything she read back was stated correctly. We go and pay for our order ($90), and get home to a very disappointing meal. My salad was not salad, it was black olives WITH lettuce. The buffalo wings weren't even buffalo, the bill even stated they were honey tang which still were rubbery & uncooked, the pizza wasn't fully cooked, and the breadsticks doughy but burnt. I called to state my concerns, originally very polite (more than I'd usually be even!), the person on the phone stated they don't serve food like that. I then proceeded to ask her if she's saying I'm lying and she raises her voice asking if I wanted it recooked or my money back. I had to raise my voice even higher in order for it to be heard and she hung up. I then get a call back ten minutes later, saying that our call got "disconnected" somehow? She has my refund. I get there (mind you, having to waste even more gas and time), and she says she can't refund the buffalo wings because they're produce???? The buffalo wings were $22! So I got $60 out of $90 on top of my gas (20/25 mins each direction, and my time! It was well after 9pm by the time we got home!) I worked all day/late, I was excited to not have to cook and get to bed early, the opposite happened to me. I will never go back and I do NOT recommend. Reading other comments, I now realize the childish little girl on the phone...

Our evening began with our waitress not knowing which table our drinks belonged to until flagging her over, then we did not see her again until over an hour later when finally receiving our appetizers. Upon commenting that the table next to us arrived 20 minutes after us and had received and finished their appetizers the response we got was "well, he use to work here". We finally got one appetizer, chicken wings, and then the next appetizer thirty minutes later. We had officially been seated for over an hour and a half. I proceeded to ask if our pizza had been started and if we could have it prepared for take out as we needed to leave. We received our pizza and it was not prepared to take home. I then had to ask for a box two more times. Our waitress approached us and told us our pizza would be taken off of the bill as we had been waiting for an absurd amount of time. When we got our bill the pizza was still on the check, therefore, I mentioned it to our waitress when she took our card to charge it. The owner then came over, slamming our check on the table and told us that she NEVER takes food off of the bill and that regardless of how busy it is this is what we should have expected. As we were pulling out of the driveway, two hours and thirteen minutes after first arriving, the owner took it upon herself to stick her head out the door and scream "THANKS, COME AGAIN, NOT!!!". I believe that is enough to show you the type of people that own and operate The Pizza Stone of Chester, Vermont. NEVER again will they receive...
