The front desk staff was polite and very sweet, but the rooms were dirty. I found 3 different bugs crawling around on the floor (multiple crickets, multiple flies, and a spider). There were several flies buzzing around the room all night and it made me feel like I was at the Bates Motel and Norman Bates had dead bodies hidden in the walls. A very full fly strip was hanging in the bathroom (which had a window facing the back and absolutely no curtain for privacy) and what appeared to be used bubble gum wrapped around it. The microwave was dirty with caked on food and there was a pull-off top from a dog food can sitting upside down on the window sill next to the window unit. The room was obviously not cleaned, however, the filter for the ac unit was sitting ontop of the unit itself as if someone just cleaned it. There are ZERO chairs, tables, or lamps in the room. No coffee pot in the room and the cable/satelittle tv was terrible reception. It was strictly a bed, mini fridge, very dirty microwave, and a wall-mounted TV in my room. The blinds were broken so anyone walking by at night could see into the room. The walls were also incredibly thin as I could hear a man simply speaking (not yelling) in the room next to mine. HOWEVER, the water was extremely hot and appreciated after having to sleep there overnight. I am still blown away that the price is $70 a night. I realized the next day I could have spent $5 more and gotten a better hotel 5 minutes down the road. Again, the staff was polite, but I will not be...
Read moreWhen I first moved into this campground, I honestly thought it was the perfect place. The manager Debbie seemed so sweet and welcoming, and she talked a lot about being a Christian and caring about people. At first, I believed every word of it.
But after a while, things really started to shift. The rules would randomly change depending on how she was feeling that day. Some people were allowed to do things that others weren’t. And if she ever decided she didn’t like you, that was it. You’d get told to pack up and leave with barely any notice, sometimes within just a day or two. It didn’t matter how long you’d been there or how respectful you were.
I’ve heard the same thing from so many others who lived there too. It’s not just a one-time thing. There’s a pattern here, and it keeps happening. People get lured in with kindness, only to end up stressed out and pushed out.
I’m not writing this to be mean. I just think people deserve to know the truth before they move in. This place has potential to be something really special, but not with the way things are being handled right now, if Debbie leaves his campground/motel It would be best for everyone. honestly hope this helps someone else or maybe encourages some...
