Casa Maria’s mexican restaurant — Restaurant in Chouteau

I was enjoying my meal at Casa Maria’s Mexican Restaurant, in Chouteau, when my brain formulated a puzzling question that I couldn’t answer. Do the Amish eat Mexican food? As my wife and I scanned the menu, we didn’t discuss what we were going to order. When the waitress asked, we had come to the same conclusion. The picture of Lunch Burrito Casa Maria was influential. A burrito is a burrito, but Casa maria’s Lunch Burrito Casa Maria distinguished itself from many we have had. It is a lunch menu item, described as a “one burrito” filled with (beef or chicken) cooked with pico de gallo then topped with queso, rice and beans on the side, and guacamole. We went with chicken. The savory pico de gallo blended with the chicken and the queso to yield an enjoyable, tasty, better than average, burrito reward. The accompanying rice and beans were good. I usually skip the rice. Casa Maria’s rice is well seasoned though. I discovered that a dab of hot salsa covered beans, sharing a fork with a dab of rice, made a great, delicious mouth full of food. The guac was fresh. I wish the portion had been larger, but this is a lunch menu item. The gringo style salsa average. The hot salsa very good. Service very good. Traveling back home to Dallas Texas we stopped and let me say it was great. I had the nacho Supreme because I'm a sucker for nachos. I could not finish because there was plenty. The tast was great. I tried the beef and chicken to try the different flavors and I was not disappointed. The salsa is mild, but [pro-tip] I asked if there is any special hotter salsa and unsurprisingly they DID have some.(most great places do). My wife was impressed with the enchiladas and cheese rejellno (I tried hers and agree). I wish I could have sampled other items but I suspect I could not find any disappointment.

The venue is clean tidy, the staff is pleasant friendly. I cannot find one thing to complain about

Saw a sign along the main road. It was late evening, almost 8 pm so we stopped. Hours posted on the door said open till 9 pm. We were seated and ordered taken right away. All of our questions about the menu and food were answered. While ordering a jumbo Margarita, I got the impression that they served a larger one. Sure enough a Monster Margarita was available! Since I was not driving I ordered the Monster on the rocks. It was what I needed to cool off from the day's intense heat and humidity. Food was great. Service was great.
