I travel to Albany for work and have struggled to find a comfortable, clean, and modern hotel—until I stayed at Four Points by Sheraton Albany. Despite paying good money at other places, nothing has been as comfortable as this hotel. In my opinion, it’s the best value for the price. The reception staff are excellent—during my stay, I interacted with two different receptionists, and both were helpful, hospitable, and genuinely nice. The rooms are spotless, and I appreciate the complimentary bottled water (a rare touch at many hotels). The 24-hour gym is a big plus for me, and free parking makes things even better. There’s also a restaurant and bar right next to the reception area—super convenient after a long day. The heated indoor pool, open until 11 PM daily, is a great way to relax in the evenings. Beds are comfortable, pillows are great, and the AC works perfectly. Ice machines and a water fountain are available, which is a small but thoughtful detail. The location is also ideal—right next to a 24-hour Sonic, a gas station, Popeyes, and other shops within walking distance. Overall, this is the best hotel experience I’ve had in Albany, and I’ll definitely be staying here regularly. Kudos to the management for making my trip a comfortable one.

The hotel is very nice and modern and my husband and I were pleasantly surprised. They hit the nail on the head with some things but completely missed the mark with others. The staff at the front desk could use a little more training in professional communication. There is a thin line between being friendly and inappropriate. The front desk staff was the latter. However, other staff members were nice. The room was small but the bathroom was nice and updated. The bedding was clean and crisp and the bed was comfortable. There in an armoir-console type thing in the room that houses the microwave, fridge, safe, iron and ironing board and closet space. There was no do not disturb sign for the door. The hotel advertised a free continental breakfast but there was none available on a Sunday morning because apparently the one person that prepares breakfast called out sick and they had no replacement. Instead they had a grab and go breakfast of frozen bagels that might be in a doomsday prep kit and blueberry muffins. The teabags tasted of coffee. The seating area is beautiful and modern and the gym was really nice and clean. It was a decent stay but we probably won’t return.

The new General Manager Jose is just as disrespectful as the old one. I received a phone call from the assistant general manager saying to me that he would like to meet with me & possibly see if I wanted my job back after being terminated wrongly by Todd (the old GM). I was also told that the assistant spoke with the owner of the hotel & they both were on the same page about everything. I accepted the offer & came in 2 days later as scheduled to speak to the assistant general manager & the general manager himself. I thought everything was going fine until the end of our conversation when Jose (GM) told me that he will give me a call the next day by 12pm IF he wanted to move forward with me & that if he didn’t want to move forward he will not be calling. I confusingly said okay. The next day comes & it’s past 12pm so I called Jose to ask him why didn’t he want to move forward with everything ? Because I was under the impression (from the phone call) that I was getting my job back, especially if the owner agreed. Jose went ahead to tell me “I told you if I didn’t call that I wouldn’t be moving forward with you”. I then say can I know why ? (Again being confused due to the phone call I received before) He then tells me he doesn’t not need to disclose that information with me & rudely hangs up the phone. I then call back to ask if I can have the owners email or number because I am just confused as to why now I am not being accepted back & he tells me he can take my number down to pass on to him & he will reach out to me if necessary. I didn’t trust that so I kindly asked if I can just receive the owners information instead so I can reach out myself & Jose denies it. I am kinda glad now that I wasn’t accepted back because a General manager that acts like THAT is just beyond unbelievable & needs to be corrected. Not only did I get my time wasted but I also turned down other jobs being under the impression that THEY wanted ME back, not the...

This felt like a motel.

To start none of the amenities are open and this is not listed anywhere on the website or booking pages. Gym is closed. Pool by appt only (so if you’re staying one night and don’t get there early it’s all gone). Bar closed. While the sign at the front says this is due to covid, when pressed since most restrictions are lifted, it turned out to be because they are under staffed.

We then get to our room and it’s facing a graveyard with large crosses. Not the prettiest sight if you’re trying to use this a vacation. We didn’t want to face the grave site but when we went down to ask to change our room to once facing the front, we were told no. This would mean they would have to “re clean” our room (even tough we were gone for 5 minutes) and they were too under staffed to do it. We then asked for a refund, but were told that because we booked through Hotels.com we couldn’t get one. She was adamant that if we hadn’t booked thru the company’s site instead it would be a different situation. ( we then called hotels.com later that week who told us this was untrue. Since we paid at the property the property cancellation rules applied. Regardless, someone lied)

Anyways. We ended up staying. We had plans the next day and didn’t wand to waste the close to $200 we paid for a stay. Room was ok, but there was dust above the furniture, so it really made us question their cleanliness during COVID. Shower pressure was extra low. Then water spilled on the floor since there wasn’t a proper seal on the door.

Location it’s behind a sonic and next to a gas station on a busy roadway. Close to Albany but definitely not walking distance....

Not a great experience! The staff was very friendly, professional and accommodating! The hotel was new and very clean and had disinfectant readily available ! There ends the good points.. Please understand, we both travel often as it is part of our business and lifestyle. The room was a huge disappointment ! First...the bathroom did not have a fan...really ??? Plus, it had a sliding door, that left air openings. So, basically any odors in the bathroom were in the whole hotel room....not good. The shower was a trickle of water with very little pressure. There was no trashcan in the bathroom. The room had a divided trash can with two small cans that both were labeled recyclable. We used one for trash. The closet was tiny and the hanging ironing board and iron were oddly placed and infringed on the small closet space. The heater made such loud sounds when it turned on and off that it disturbed sound sleeping. Any conversation in the hallways was clearly heard in the room. For the price, we were not surprised that there was no pen and pad, no menu or hotel booklet, no bottles of water and no instructions for the tv remote. However, there was not even a do not disturb doorknob option. We requested no housekeeping,. yet , there was knocking on our door waking us up. We were so impressed walking in to the hotel....so not...
