I Needed a hotel for several days while waiting for my vehicle to be repaired at the Clarksville Ford Dealer. Based on the decent reviews, and Veterans' discount ($72+tx per night), I booked a room there. At first glance, the room appeared to be nice and clean. Moving into the room and having time to scrutinize, the tables turned (see photos). The floors are laminated materials, no carpet, and appeared to be clean. But after wearing my white socks for the few hours before retiring for the evening, I noticed they were nearly black on the bottoms. I wiped a damp paper towel on a small area of the floor and it came up filthy. It appeared that remodeling had been preformed by the cheapest bid... Baseboards showed large gaps with failed attempts to caulk. Walls could use touch ups, the ceiling in the front area was cracked all the way across, black mold in the shower near the ceiling. Common areas were filthy and way past due a good pressure washing. Large pot holes in the asphalt through out the property. Saving grace was the fact that the bed was comfortable, providing a decent nights' sleep. Staff at the front desk have been very friendly and accommodating, even when told that the floor in my room was filthy and needed a good moping. Upon checking in, I did tell the front desk clerk that I needed good Wi-Fi, and was assured that they had never received any complaints. I get one bar of service, and intermittent 1-2mbps downloads. Not sure if it's my small (32") TV, or the delivery system, but picture quality is pretty bad. The reason for the one-star review is that many of the noted deficiencies could be easily remedied. Some would take a bit more effort and expense. It appears that this hotel is not company owned, but owned by Middle Eastern folks. Despite the appearance that most rooms were booked, ownership obviously resists investing the finances to keep this location at a higher level. Update: ... Maid service responded with a through cleaning of my dirty floor (thx for that). I ran an Okla speed test with results showing 19mbps download speed, via wireless. I just happened to have an LG TV remote in my trailer (for my LG OLED), and was able to get into the menu of my room's,tiny TV. The picture settings were on "Vivid", with the contrast set at max! No wonder it was so bad. Set it to Cinema and a few other adjusts, and I now have a great (albeit small) picture.
So... I upped the review from 1-star to 2-stars, because most folks would be one-nighters, and have to put up with dirty floors, bad quality TV, and the other items...
Read moreI have been a dedicated paying costumer using the hotel for over three years and have always used this hotel when I am in town. I was very disappointed in the treatment we received with our last visit. We were picking my son up from college. I was gone for 30 minutes to get my son's luggage. My dogs are well behaved and while they may bark briefly when someone walks by the door, we have never received any complaints that my dogs were ever a problem from any place that we have stayed at. I received a a message later, stating there was a complaint. I went to see what was going as my dogs have never been a problem. The owner stated that he called me but I did not answer. I did not see the message until 30 mins after we returned. He stated that he received a complaint from the person next door. I told him I was surprised because my dogs have never been a problem and I was only gone briefly. He further stated that he was concerned because he would not want the guest to complain again, otherwise he would call the dog shelter and my dogs could be removed and taken away!!! This is an unacceptable way to treat a dedicated customer, that has never been a problem. Furthermore to be threatened that your dogs would be taken away is of great concern!! I was so upset to be treated this way, again a dedicated customer. And the owner knows we have never been a problem. They also doubled the pet fee, but I want not told this when I made th reservation!!. While I write this, I hear loud music outside my room in which has not ceased for over 30 minutes!! So unfortunate to see how this business treats their dedicated customers! I will no longer be using this hotel and will be staying at another hotel that appreciates...
Read moreThe hotel served our purposes as being one stop on a multi-day motorcycle ride of Arkansas. Just an average hotel by comparison to others I have stayed at for a similar rate, but the room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom door knob was about to fall off - but worked. Could have fixed it myself if I had a screwdriver handy, but lived with it and reported it to desk clerk upon checking out. It seems housekeeping would have noticed and notified maintenance ahead of time. Breakfast was mediocre but edible - and free - and more than just fruit, cereal and sweet rolls. I have had much better, and did at the other Choice hotels we stayed at on the trip. Internet speed was not to great and at times downright slow and spotty. TV channels appeared to mainly be standard definition rather than HD, but I did not watch much TV while there so I didn't go through all channels to see if any were Hi-Def. Upon checking in, the friendly Front Desk Clerk provided dinner recommendation when asked. Location she recommended gave 10% discount to hotel guests and was easy walk from the hotel. They had a special on prime rib that night and it was VERY good! Convenience to this restaurant and the recommendation was about the best part of the stay at this location. Overall, room was clean and served its purpose but, for the rate payed, was just okay. I would recommend it as an option, if asked, but I would advise checking other hotels available in the area before making...
