Firstly I cannot RAVE enough about the lady who works 3rd shift here! She is phenomenal! She went way above and beyond and MIGHT be the ONLY reason I decide to stay at another Hilton property in the future. HOWEVER!! The second shift person, Hannah should be fired!!! The level of disrespect I encountered with her was incomprehensible, racist, and she exhibited a volatile “Karen” temper. During the afternoon of Oct 14, 2022. I stood in line to pay for three bottles of soda. The man ahead of me what spoken to very nicely; offered to put his purchase on his room etc. When I stepped forward Hannah did not even so much as look up! She rang up the drinks, we paid and she said have a good evening. I took 4/5 steps away when she starting yelling, in a crowded lobby, that my card had declined. That in itself was inaccurate; just not a card Hilton allows. She snapped I can run it again to which I replied no and handed her my bank card instead. Paid again and JUST as I was about to walk away she said the next guest. “I’m so sorry for that interruption” to which I turned and requested her name. Returned to my room and called down to find out who the manager was. Was told there wasn’t one in the building and that she was the only one here. Managers would return in the morning. She would not give me their names at all!! She persisted to have me tell her why I wanted to talk to a manager to which I asked her name. When she said Hannah… I simply stated I would call and talk to them in the morning and ended the call. Things got severely escalated when I went downstairs at 8:40 -8:45 pm to meet up with my son and his music teacher. At this point the lobby was really crowded with people playing pool, chatting or waiting to be checked in. I intended to walk past the front desk and not interact with her at all. Hannah clearly had other plans! She berated, antagonized, and screamed at me to speak to her. I responded no mamm several times and that I would just talk to the manager and attempted to keep walking. Hannah then began SCREAMING “YOU NEED TO TELL ME YOUR ROOM NUMBER!” I still while being accosted, remained calm and tried to keep walking. Hannah then proceeded to scream even LOUDER! At this point everyone was staring and my son scared and embarrassed. I turned back around, approached the desk, to quiet her screaming and calmly told her my room number, my name, and the reservation block I was in for my son’s all state performance with his school. Hannah sharply informed me that the managers would not be back until Monday. Asked for her full name again. And returned to my party to go up to my room. My son’s music teacher visibly shaken asked if everything was ok. I told him no but it would be addressed. I have stayed at Hilton properties for YEARS and only Hilton. I make a point of only visiting Hilton for any trip I have to stay overnight. Hannah not only made a complete racist fool of herself but succeeded in displaying a volatile temper that will likely affect future reservations in the future with my son’s school or any other his teacher recommends. I definitely will not EVER BE RETURNING TO THIS LOCATION. The third shift lady handed me the GM’s card, told me his name, and that Trey, the GM, would return on Sunday actually; not Monday as I was told. I did not get the lady’s name that worked third shift while she was ringing my son’s late night snack up but she was once again amazing! Hannah is obviously not cut out for talking to a POC and ought to be fired for her behavior that is clearly unbecoming of a Hilton...
Read moreBeautiful location. Only 2 minutes from the University Clemson. Lovely stores within a 2 minute drive, Iso Iso ramen was super cute and had a great date. The hotel staff was friendly, but blunt and honest about some inconveniences, such as requesting some fresh towels as we had made a mess in our room and needed what we had to clean it, Leaving no wash clothes to shower with, stating that they usually would not be able to bring them up because only one staff member was at the desk. As we were leaving, we happened to look out the window and see staff members sitting on the "Out of Order" patio taking a smoke break, over our 2 night stay, at least 4 times. I had brought my service dog, which indicates to me that one would need an ADA room, or at least asked if I would like a larger room. Never got asked, and that is okay. The room was extremely tiny for any hotel. I had the intention to put my dog's medium sized kennel up if need be, and when we tried, it would not fit anywhere in the room, with the largest space being between the bed and the wall with the window, and it would not fit. So down it went and against the wall it sat. If you are a larger bodied individual, two people cannot pass each other from the bed to the bathroom without someone needing to sit on the bed. its a tight squeeze. The walls were dirty upon arrival, I noticed the scuff marks around the door, which did not surprise me, because that door was incredibly heavy (if you need any form of walking assistance you will likely fall) but the scuff marks under the tv did, I guess someone was playing Jenga with suitcases. -- those did not really interrupt my stay but the dirty shower did. Looking up as I am 5 foot, I saw long streaks of soap scum, I was able to take my finger and scrap away at it, and I thought to myself ah yes, Hilton quality. The rooms do not have coffee pots, or microwaves, in which I originally thought that's not the worst thing, but having one communal microwave which at one point had a line, and 24/7 coffee bar that was made by someone else, that was extremely strong and seemingly not fresh, even in the morning (this was not my only observation, but watching 6 people 4 of which were seniors dump their cups of coffee was a sign), -were two convinces I truly missed from other stays. I mean who would not want to go downstairs to the main lobby (forced to socialize), in their pjs and make a few scolding hot cups of coffee to take back up stairs to their rooms to sip on, only to find out they are nasty, ima skip that and hit Starbucks which was around the corner.
Being blunt, the slogan is Welcome, to something tru-ly different, when its...
Read moreOverall a good stay, these properties are different than other Hilton branded hotels, they cater to the millennials or the wired crowd, mostly, They have a game area with a pool table/ game room and they have hip signs telling you about the area. They have a nice selection of quick meals and drinks in the lobby with snacks, albeit they are pricey. Have a nice outdoor patio area to hang out. You will find the usual, like a weight room and ample seating in the lobby. The ice machine, just one, is in the lobby and they have plastic buckets to get your ice, along with a water fill fountain for your water bottles. The rooms are nice with roll down blinds and a bathroom that uses soap dispensers instead of soap bars and bath gel, shampoo, and conditioner, again in dispensers. The dispensers are sometimes a little hard to use especially for arthritic seniors because it requires some force to get product to come out. The bed is comfy but I always push the mattress all the way over to the side that I am getting in and out of, cause It is on a wood frame which is a lot bigger than the mattress and I have banged my legs and rubbed the back of my calves when I didn't. Bare floor with no rug so have slippers or keep your socks on when its cold. Breakfast is again geared toward the younger crowd with Bagels
