Super 8 by Wyndham Clinton — Hotel in Clinton

I sent this to corporate with no response. Please choose another property and steer clear of the Wyndham brand:|I stayed at the Super 8 property in Clinton, IA on 07/07 and 07/08. I made an online reservation and requested a non-smoking room with two beds. This was easily the filthiest and most disgusting place I have ever stayed and I have traveled extensively domestically and internationally. |First, the front glass door and windows to the property had not been cleaned in who knows how long. The interior area was very dirty and needed to be vacuumed. I checked in and went to my room and when I opened the door I was hit with a blast of smelly cigarette stench, Obviously this room was not a non-smoking room. The room itself was very dirty and I went to the front desk but no one was around at that time and I needed to get to my event. My son joined me later and noticed hair all over the bathroom floor and even an earring, indicating the floor had not been cleaned since again, who knows when. We had a family event the next day and when we returned at about 11:30 pm, the room had not been cleaned at all (photos attached). I went to the front desk and rang the bell and asked why housekeeping had not cleaned my room. The response was that they had! No, actually they did not, was my response.|What came next is really upsetting. He then shrugged his shoulders and asked what he was supposed to do about it now? Really?!! For one, I need clean towels!!!|I can honestly say this is the worst experience I have had anywhere at any hotel, ever. I understand within the family of Wyndham Hotels, that Super 8 is not a 4 star hotel. However, it still is under the Wyndham banner and this location is a shameful way to represent what I used to think is a quality place to stay and at the very least, clean and well maintained. Lastly, the lack of response from corporate says all you need to know about how they value customers. STAY AWAY...

I wish I could give a lower rating. First thing when we walk in the air conditioner doesnt work. We told the lady there would be three people and she did set the room with enough pillows and blankets. There was one towel wash rag and hand towel. There is no plug ins open to charge something like your phone. The toilet barely flushes. If you prefer a bath over a shower there is no way to plug the drain besides using your wash cloth. They dont even provide you with a coffee pot. Most every hotel I've been to had at least a pen notepad or even a bible which we had none of. It smells like public restroom throughout the entire building. Not to mention. Their "complementary breakfast" is a waffle you make yourself and coffee if they decide to fill the dispenser. We asked for an extra pillow which I suppose they have no supply of, she said they were out. I woke up this morning with itchy red welts the size of golf balls that are hot and are hard feeling. 0/10 stars wouldnt reccomend staying here. I decided to look at reviews because I cant believe this place hasnt been taken down yet after my one of two nights experiance and I saw someone else in the building had just made a review 3 hours ago. It's crazy, now I'm sure I'm not the only one getting a horrible experiance. How does this place...

Has a bed and shower. 216 218 118 Rooms need a deep clean. Bed had stains on sheets. Towels are cheap worn. Floors are very worn and dirty. Bottom of fridge rusty. The brand new windows from a while ago still have the manufacturer sticker in it! The corner molding into the bathroom was ripped off, and then painted over. There was a nasty message drawn on the head board picture. Smoke detectors went off when I turned on the heat in the room. The ptac smelled like it was gonna start on fired. Started burning the dust off of it. Hence the smoke detector. It sounded like someone was dragging a metal file cabinet across the cement in the room above. Someone entered the room at 830 am while my wife was in the shower, it was not me. None of the staff had a clue! The lobby breakfast bar was empty of . 3 muffins to choose from. Fridge had a 4 yogurts. Waffle maker needed a good cleaning. Cleaning gear right in the lobby by the food bar. 118 had a issue with the card reader. 218 and 216 were under loud guests. Parking lot is in need of help....
