An absolutely surreal deal. Super 8 price, hotel/casino quality. No joke. I get Thailand levels of "I can get all this for less than the cheapest in the US!?!?!?" And yes I've been to thailand a few times.
HUGE bathroom, sofa, recliner, table, chairs, small dresser, 2 windows! The best part is that all the walls, including the hallways are made of pine. A very beautiful aesthetic luxury compared to the brutalism of sheet rock walls.
Bloody hell. It has a walk in closet and an extra bed that I didnt notice until I started writing this review.
The woman at the front is very sweet too.
Edit: after looking at other reviews and pictures it has come to my attention that I might have the suite at a standard, non-peak season price. I rolled in at 10:30pm and the kind old lady cold read me as a young(er) single man just in need of a bed and shower for the night. Since all but one room was full at peak season, she was probably already making good money, so charging full suite price is morally questionable. She willingly hooked me up. She makes a few extra bucks with that last room filled and here I am sipping on my Windsor finally having...
Read moreWe stayed here last night after attempting to drive home from Minneapolis and the roads were just too dangerous. What luck we got by stumbling across this hotel! We pass through Cook all the time and stop at the country store all the time because they’re the nicest gas station in Cook. The hotel is no exception! That has got to be the absolute cleanest hotel room I have ever stayed at. The rate was great, very reasonable cost. The decor is rustic and lots of wood and cabin feel. And one of the best parts is that is locally owned and they give back to the community. It’s always nice to be able to support small businesses. The one part we loved the most was that the furniture is all made just a few miles away by another small business in Orr. If you’re planning to stay up North, this hotel is a FANTASTIC option. You won’t be disappointed. Very cozy and the staff was super nice and friendly. It’s super conveniently located too! The gas station connected offers pizzas if you’re hungry, and they have menus from all the restaurants in town too! Very nice place, we will definitely be...
Read moreI stayed in Sept and first days of Oct. I bought a house in Cook, Mn so I thought it would be cool to stay at the only motel in Cook. The first time I stayed I thought the motel was great clean, the help was great and very friendly so when I came back it was a no brainer to stay again. After leaving I got a call saying I did not pay for one night that I added (thought that I had and paid by phone no problem. I came back to stay again for 5 days everything was great the staff was awesome. Then I met the drunk owner Tom what a jack ass he accuses me of trying to skip out on paying my room twice and smoking in my room which all the staff knew I was outside smoking because they all saw me. Being I have owned my own construction company for over 25 years I have spent the majority of my time in motels and never met a worse owner. He would be way better off staying in his room and letting staff run the motel. Would have loved to stay there again, but will never step foot in it...
