Horrible experience in unit 107. For our only vacation of the year, we booked a week-long stay at this unit. I’ve been coming to this area for years, stayed here with my family and several other properties on mustang island, and this by far was the worst experience ever. The floors in the unit sagged and felt like you were going to fall through them. That should have clued me in. Although they are still under construction (which was never communicated to me by Silver Sands, the property management company), they never mentioned that the workers were going to be installing siding on the wall that the master bedroom’s bed is on. And starting at 6:45am on morning 2. So much for sleeping in. When the rainstorm came the first morning around 7:30, the front window poured water, flooding the living room area up to the fireplace. We had to use trash cans and kitchen bowls to catch the water, and continually empty them. Maintenance was called and showed up around 10am. Their “fix” was to run a bead of caulk along the window. HAHAHA! I just had to laugh. You can still see all of the previous water damage - they’ve known about this issue for a long time and it was never addressed. Even the maintenance man said they’ve known about it but have chosen not to fix it. Is there more? Why yes, I’m glad you asked. We did however get a free car wash, so there’s a positive. All we had to do is run the guest bathroom shower and bam! Free car wash in the garage where the water poured from the bathroom down below into the garage. Wonder how much mold is in that place. We didn’t stay. We moved to Port Royal next door on day 2, and they were happy to have us, for the same price and much better service, maintenance and closer to the beach. ||||Don’t rent here at all, for any of these units. It’s just falling apart and they’ve covered up rotten wood with new siding. I saw it myself. For the love of all that is holy, and your sanity, rent...
