I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Legion Lake campground in South Dakota, and it was an unforgettable experience. Here's why I highly recommend this campground:

Spectacular Scenery: Legion Lake is nestled in the stunning Custer State Park, surrounded by tall pines and overlooking the tranquil lake. The views alone make this place worth visiting.

Spacious Campsites: The campsites are well-maintained and spacious, offering privacy and room to relax. Whether you prefer tent camping or RVs, there's a spot for everyone.

Clean Facilities: The campground offers clean and modern restroom facilities, which is always a plus when camping. It's evident that they take cleanliness seriously.

Abundant Wildlife: Wildlife enthusiasts will be thrilled by the chance to see bison, deer, and other animals up close. Be sure to have your camera ready for some incredible shots.

Small, really nice campground paved sites electric only. The lake is right across the road and so is the lodge that has a store and a restaurant. The lake has a trail around it and there’s a trail out the back of the campground that goes over a mile . But if you need water, make sure you fill up at the dump station because the campground does have one spot to get water but it’s behind the bathroom! So you would have to park your RV in front of the bathrooms and run a hose...

Spotless gem smack in the middle of Custer State Park. Centrally located near the Needles Scenic Highway, Crazy Horse Memorial, and the wildlife loop. Our camp host, Steve, immediately came to welcome us and answered all our questions. He even came back the next night to see what hikes we enjoyed. The bathrooms are spotless and cleaned daily.
