I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Legion Lake campground in South Dakota, and it was an unforgettable experience. Here's why I highly recommend this campground:
Spectacular Scenery: Legion Lake is nestled in the stunning Custer State Park, surrounded by tall pines and overlooking the tranquil lake. The views alone make this place worth visiting.
Spacious Campsites: The campsites are well-maintained and spacious, offering privacy and room to relax. Whether you prefer tent camping or RVs, there's a spot for everyone.
Clean Facilities: The campground offers clean and modern restroom facilities, which is always a plus when camping. It's evident that they take cleanliness seriously.
Abundant Wildlife: Wildlife enthusiasts will be thrilled by the chance to see bison, deer, and other animals up close. Be sure to have your camera ready for some incredible shots.
Recreation Opportunities: Legion Lake offers a range of recreational activities, from kayaking and paddleboarding on the lake to hiking trails nearby. There's something for outdoor enthusiasts of all levels.
Friendly Staff: The campground staff is welcoming and knowledgeable, always ready to assist with any questions or concerns.
Nearby Attractions: Don't miss the iconic Needles Highway and the wildlife loop drive within Custer State Park. Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse Memorial are also a short drive away.
In conclusion, Legion Lake campground exceeded my expectations in every way. It's a peaceful haven where you can connect with nature and enjoy the best that South Dakota has to offer. I can't wait to return to this gem of a campground.

So you would have to park your RV in front of the bathrooms and run a hose...

Our camp host, Steve, immediately came to welcome us and answered all our questions. He even came back the next night to see what hikes we enjoyed. The bathrooms are spotless and cleaned daily. I would highly recommend this campground. The spots behind the bathroom are the best. The trees provide shade and make it feel...
