Travel Inn Deer Lodge Montana — Hotel in Deer Lodge

My friend had rented a room at this hotel he was very intoxicated just wanted to rest . He had been to a few of the astablishments in town. He admitted he had got up to use rest room and tripped over something hit his head off the mirror accidentally broke it and cursed kinda loud. Well apparently his door was open a little . And people had heard it . He was still intoxicated and in shock . The front desk lady had come up and asked if he was OK seen blood on his head and counter so called 911 . He didn't want to go to hospital cause don't have insurance and was trying to express that . He then ended up being arrested for disorderly and being intoxicated . Despite what had happed he fills horrible for tripping and hitting his head off mirror and accidentally breaking it and being kinda loud about it after . Wasn't his attentions. While he was being arrested he had some things in the room that came up missing. He asked me to please go get it for him cause he couldn't go on the property. I had visited with front desk gal we had some laughs and talked about what had happened she said he was super quiet while she was working tell midnight and no problem at all from him and I kinda told her what he had told me of what he remembered . She laughed I laughed was like crazy get hotel room cause your too intoxicated and end up being arrested 🤣 over tripping and hitting your head. I left my number and asked if she find his belongings to please call me so I can pick it up for him. And said I'll call police station see if they had it cause they make list of items brought in . And asked if it's not on list it has to be at hotel and if I get the list to show them if they can investigate who ever cleaned the room cause that be theft of someone's property and not very nice 😒 got the call several hours later telling me I'm trespassed because I accused her staff of theft and that's against the law . I will not be giving this hotel my business in any way nor will any of my family...

The bed was extremely uncomfortable. It was lumpy, too firm, and the worn out springs sagged in the middle. The pillows are also flat. After tossing and turning for two hours, I gave up on getting any sleep.

The thermostat for the heater is not digital, lacks any labeling, and you are just supposed to guess the temperature setting. It eventually became blazing hot in my room.

Luckily I found the window opens which while cooling the room, now results in the poorly fitted door banging back and forth in its frame with the changes in wind pressure. I can see light from the hallway around all four edges of the door.

The recent remodel replaced the carpeted hallways with hard faux-wood flooring. As a result, every footstep and door closing echoes down the hallway.

The lack of office chair and alternative choice of tiny square children's stools instead is nerve wracking. The stools have no back, very little padding, and I don't know who would actually be comfortable sitting on one. There is no office chair for those needing to work on their laptop.

Extremely clean!!! Very friendly good value. It is an older hotel, many of the fixtures and furniture (including the TV) are from the 80's but it appears that is because the owners care for them greatly. It is by no means run down, they just maintained the hotel very very well and they lasted. I have traveled quite a bit and notice small things that show how well a room is cleaned. They take care of them all. Example... The vent in the bathroom was immaculate( a rarity), the lamp shade clean as if they were brand new and the "brass" wall fixtures looked like a they were shined by a cadet with brasso, yet it is obvious they are older fixtures. Not was in disrepair, truly impressed. The staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Beds were comfortable and breakfast was done well. It is limited be adequate for a free breakfast. Two flavors of waffles, breads, fruits and 4 choices of cold cereal as well as various hot cereal. OJ and apple juice. Well done. It by far is the best hotel in its price range and up to the top in the next price range as well. A...
