Not bad location, Just OK. Seems like a 2 start hotel. Issues with the room, but most minor: TV in living room area did not function, kitchen cabinets loose, toilet paper holder loose, dust around light fixtures, paint and silicone could be cleaned up, and the room smelled a little bit musty. Addressed to the front desk before I left. They wrote it down and semi address it, someone came to the room when I wasn't there and they didn't let me know they entered. Which I didn't care if they came to fix the issues, I just wished they would have let me know they were coming since I was a way at the time, while I have sensitive things out and need to be present when entering since I am a government agent. Not a problem, just more of a respect/courtesy is all. I travel for a living and have stayed around 60 locations in different cities last year. For a hotel that has been remolded last year, it seems some items still need to be PM'd (preventative maintenance)/cleaned up. Hiring enough staff including a good Chief Engineer with an assistant would fix this problem fairly quickly (I've built and run hotels in the past before so I know what it is to run a 5 star luxury resort and minor motels). Anyways just more minor things that can be fixed and correctly. Just two more things that would help, if the hotel staff can have uniforms on including shirts (polo) with hotel brand/logo with black/beige pants clean, that would make a major difference in appearance. And last but not least please have the coolers fully stocked and cold, it would go a long way in the Sundries area (including having Stevia sugar or diabetic options like sugar free options (coke zero, zero sugar gummies, maybe milk) would help a great deal!
Hope this helps...
Read moreWe enjoyed our stay at the Candlewood suites in deer park, the staff were very accommodating, professional and willing to help. We had never stayed at a Candlewood location before and were pleased with the experience. We will be coming back to Deer Park in two weeks and I have every intention of staying at the same location based on our experience there. Thank you for having a nice home away from home! The only negative things I experienced was the internet connection was not the best, I could sign in on my cell phone, but was unable to sign in on my daughter's Nintendo switch for some reason, not really sure why that was the case, but it wasn't something we were too concerned with, just would have been nice so my daughter could have connected to her Nintendo account. Our upstairs "neighbors" were extremely loud which wasn't the fault of Candlewood whatsoever, some people just don't realize (or care) how loud they are when walking back and forth when staying above someone else. It sounded like we had a junior league football game going on above us lol but that is in no way the fault of Candlewood suites and had no affect on my review of the hotel as a whole. Overall great experience and we will be back in 2 weeks as long as the price per night stays close to the price we paid...
Read moreWe travel quite a bit and my husband’s company got us this suite. It was a King room with King size bed. The amenities were nice. There are free washers and dryers, and room service for bed linen is available upon request and it must be scheduled at the front desk. Keep that in mind. There is a beautiful pool and work out room. There is no restaurant here. You need to pack your meals in and either cook in your room or go out to eat. There is coffee available all day and a small store with some necessary essentials for purchase. There is a seafood restaurant across the street, pretty pricey, but good. There are pizza places and also quite a few restaurants nearby that you can google. We ate seafood, pizza, Chick Filet, and Whataburger, while we were there. Our only negative experience was the day we left. The clerk called and told me if I didn’t leave I would be put out as noon was check out time. It wasn’t even noon and my husband had left his companies credit card on file but for whatever reason this information was not looked up. So obviously we had a communication breakdown. It all got taken care of but we won’t...
