Current River Inn — Hotel in Doniphan

The first room they put us in the TV didn't work, a bolt missing on the toilet seat, and no curtains.so they moved us to a new room and that room had not been cleaned so they had to vacuum the floors clean the bathroom. we came back about 2 hours later and it was hotter than Haites in there I had turn the air conditioner down to 60° before we left and it was still very hot and it was like that all night long so it never got below probably 80° in the room and very humid the beds were Lumpy took a shower and the water did not drain in the tub. There was a half a tub of water by the time I got out of shower and then it took about 10 minutes for it to drain completely. The motel controls the volume on the TV because remote said that you needed to contact the front office to have the remote programmed so another words you can barely hear the TV. So I do not recommend staying at this Motel. This was our second time saying there. The first time was okay this time was a nightmare and it will never...

Whatever you do, DO NOT stay at this rat hole. The first night we could not get wifi or our (CRT) TV to work. Shake wouldn’t close. Walked in the next afternoon and nothing had been cleaned. Beds were unmade, towels still on the floor. No new towels. Literally the only thing done was the trash was emptied. I complained and the manager came to my door and pounded on it like the police were here to arrest me. I answered the door and she was clearly pissed. Refused to refund my money for that night so I could go somewhere else. She said I could leave tomorrow and not return and she would only refund only tomorrow night. And walked away. Terribly rude! And unacceptable! She said she can’t rent out that room. I said not my problem! YOU are in the wrong, not me! The lady at the desk was nice but they just sit around outside and smoke all day....

The staff is very friendly and serviceable. Rooms were observed to be in pretty good clean condition with no unusual odor, I visited 2 different rooms from sides of the overall building structure. The view isn't exactly ideal but it is close enough to nice outdoorsy areas that are. Pricing is very reasonable for the area and they offer discounted pricing for longer stays. The offered swimming pool is doable but I have seen better. Nearby lakea or rivers would probably be the preferred choice for a touring traveler. Not bad for what you would expect for a rural motel though. Much of the modern comforts within the safe feeling security of being within the city limits. I've got nothing to complain about...
