Pros: We arrived after hours (almost 12 am when they close at 10 pm) and the manager let us in. The room we were in was very spacious. The TV was great and had plenty of channel options. The bed was comfortable enough. The room was in good shape as far as furniture goes and everything looked new.
Cons: The top bed spread cover was obviously dirty. The bathtub was dirty and had hair (at least 7, only 1 of them a head hair) and scum build up in it that was easily removed by wiping it, indicating that it just wasn't cleaned prior to our stay. The toilet had dust and hair stuck to the top of the tank. The bathroom floor also had noticeable foot prints on it. The counter had crumbs on it and there was food left in the fridge. The remote control was coated in a black grease-like substance that was almost impossible to clean off, in fact we weren't able to get it fully clean. The manager drawled on about how he couldn't do anything to help us and told us multiple times why he couldn't help us, stating that policy (which we weren't provided with) states that we have 30 minutes, from the time we get the key, to report any issues with the room and request a new one. This was even after he said that he AGREES with us that the cleanliness was unacceptable, but that he can't check every single room for cleanliness. He also stated that he already gave us a 20% discount, when he charged us $80 plus tax for the room, which is what the website stated as their normal price. Instead of caring about what we had experienced, him and another female staff went on and on and on about how they don't help with certain issues and how they run their business and don't run their business. There was spilled syrup in the breakfast area and there was a pile of ants feasting on it. There was also no egg options with breakfast, which is almost all I can eat for breakfast since having weight loss surgery.
Other comments: I did not like that there was no carpet in the room. It made the room feel cold. The room was big but there was a lot of empty space and no desk. The lighting is also too dim...
Read moreWish I could give zero stars! Be warned if you book online or over the phone your rates may change upon arrival. We called and reserved a room for two adult and two children, the rate we were quoted was $89 a night. When we arrived we were told that each of our children would be an additional $10 for a total of $109 a night instead of $89. We tried to explain that we had stated that we had two adults and two children, but the manager refused to listen and began a very long drawn out explanation of why he had to charge us $20 more! Once he stopped talking we tried again to explain that we had reserved the room with the quote of $89, but there was no customer service or willingness to understand what we were quoted. Other than the horrible customer service the hotel is nice and new. The beds comfortable and room are spacious. The free breakfast wasn't very good. It consists of pastries, hard boiled eggs, biscuits and gravy(our gravy was cold and had to be warmed in the microwave), bananas, yogurt, and orange or apple juice. If it hadn't been for our horrible experience with the front desk manager, we may have given it a higher rating. For now I think it is totally fraudulent to increase the rate upon a guests arrival. I would recommend staying...
Read moreMy wife and I had to be in Duchesne for an early Monday morning meeting and living two hours away decided to drive up on Sunday afternoon and spend the night. After driving around the area the Studio 6 hotel appeared to be the only logical choice as the newer facility clearly stood out brightly in an otherwise aged town. We were right, this was the place to stay. The staff was friendly and helpful, the facility was clean and well maintained, the large room was modern and well appointed including a large cable TV. The rate included continental breakfast typical of this type of facility: cereal, waffles, yogurt, bagels & pastries, coffee & juices; simple yet adequate. The hotel had a pool and other amenities but since we were just in & out I can't comment on those.
We wanted something light to eat before retiring (the town closes up early on Sunday) and just steps away the adjoining Chevron station's Food Court was surprisingly clean and well stocked with light food & snacks. (We found out later that the two properties are jointly owned and managed).
The 5 star rating doesn't mean it is a 5 star hotel only that it stands out dramatically from the competition in the area.
We will stay there again when...
