Stopped by Black Sheep Coffee the other day for some to-go caffeine on a long drive for work after an almost as long morning. One of the owners were there and she was polite and hospitable while helping us with our drinks. One of the employees was asked to make mine, he was wearing a really crass tee shirt for working and came across as a bit combative interacting with other customers while we waited. My drink was awful, way too much flavored syrup and not enough of the actual substance. My buddy said that about their drink too, which the owner herself made.
The wait wasn't very long, but while we were there an older kid was running around in the cafe area without any shoes or socks on, and the owner made a fuss about a woman bringing her tiny, well behaved dog in and told her she needed a vest and a permit to do so. Seemed bass ackwards with none of the staff bothering to tell the kid to put on shoes or to wear hygiene gear themselves. If I have business Duchesne way again, I don't plan on visiting this place and I won't be recommending it to...
Read moreIf only I didn’t live two hours away, I would be a regular here. This place is phenomenal. Best mocha I’ve had in a LONG time! And they have oat milk, which is so nice considering a lot of places don’t seem to carry it (highly recommend!). The ladies running the place were the sweetest, kindest, friendliest people. And the food was incredible. I got the meat-free omelette sandwich on an everything bagel. Not sure what kind of cheese they used but even 30 minutes later (couldn’t eat it all in one bite) it still was melted and gooey - so delicious! I’m also not a cinnamon roll person but their Nutella chocolate chip one sounded too good to pass up. I brought it home with the intent to share it with my roommate, but I ended up eating the whole thing myself by the end of the day. Definitely worth the calories! Hopefully I’ll be able to come back to this...
Read moreI like a small town coffee shop - and Duchesne, a town I only pass through a few times a year, really really needed one. And the vibe I've always picked up in Duchesne was, let's just say, not friendly. However, this place really could turn that around. I've stopped in a couple of times now and really enjoyed the very specific atmosphere. Some small town coffee shops go for bland chic - just "live, laugh, latte" kind of thing so you feel like you could be anywhere. But not Black Sheep. They lean-in to the local weirdness, which I completely love. "Conspiracies found here" is the sign on the wall and the owner explained that people just shared different conspiracy theories there and she decided to go with it. I love that uniqueness. Also, the coffee was great! I say definitely...
