Horrible check-in staff. She is very rude. We have stayed here 5 different times over 6 month period. We thought we had found our hotel to stay at on our trip to the Circle j steakhouse then to hotel and on to Murphy casino. It’s been an occasional weekend trip for my husband and I. Let me tell you our experience with them today. We get into the room and the TV doesn’t have signal on most channels. There was 2 that did come in clear. I called the gas station to let the check in lady know. She said she would have her guy come in 15 mins. We waited and waited and also realized the heat was not working. So then I went to the gas station to let her know we would like another room, with heat. She refused and said her guy will come in 10 mins. I was trying to understand so I went back to the room to wait. He did come to repair the TV and Heat with no success. He walks out and tells me to come back to the gas station in 15 mins if the heat doesn’t start working. Within that time the lady that checked us in called to ask if heat was working. I told her no. She ask me to come to the gas station to get a key for a different room. When I arrived she said because room 105 is a very nice room, I need to put a deposit down so if that’s any damage. I told her we’ve stayed in room 105 and it’s no different than the other room except the HEAT AND TV WORKS!! She starts arguing with me that she’s never seen me before. My patience had ran out. I told her to just give us our money back and we will go somewhere else. She said no you stay in room 105. I told her no I wanted my money back. She refused to give out money back. We had not been in the room an hour. Then the guy that come to repair the TV and Heat starts to diffuse the argument and is very apologetic and ask me to walk with him to room 105 to check it out. I did and everything worked in that room. He is a very nice guy and made it right but because of the lady that checked us in, we will never stay here again. She should have just gave us a different room with no attitude in the begin instead of going through all that to have...
Read moreJust stayed here for 3 nights only because my parents don't have room for us during the holidays. We've stayed here for the last 3 years. During the previous years the hotel was starting to look worn but it was always clean. This year was very different!|The first room had no heat; the second room we were assigned had a huge dark burgundy stain on the carpet that looked like something had been butchered. It also had toothpaste in the sink and water marks on the mirror! And finally the crown jewel - the third room. |At 10:30 and very dark, we moved our things into this room! At this point we're exhausted and ready for bed. We pulled up the sheets and moved the mattress and saw no signs of bugs(because at this point we're concerned about this). |The next morning we found just how disgusting this place is now. The carpet had a white stain and was worn out; there were pieces of round things around the wall near the heater that we found to be dog kibble; the lamp shade was broken and the night stand had an inch of dust on it. Filthy and disgusting. This place is worn out with peeling wall paper, filthy worn out carpet; furniture that is thread bare and filthy; locks partially on the doors; thin cheap towels and washcloths, etc. |Do not stay here! Drive the extra 20 mins to Blue Ridge. |It's a shame because this used to be a really...
Read moreDuring previous years we had been staying here for a night or two because of the convenience being down the road from where we would love to go and whitewater raft. Yes the rooms were outdated and needing some desperate upkeep, but it was overall clean. NOT ANYMORE!!! It is still kind of seedy you have to check into a gas station to get a 1970's room key. As one of our friends entered the room, she was immediately attacked by small black jumping black insects (FLEAS) on her legs. THANKFULLY, she had not brought in any of her bags, so least risk of contaminating the rest of her belongings with fleas. We went back to check in desk, AKA the gas station, and reported it to the person behind the counter. They actually did not even bother to come and check the room, but denied any problems. First of all if you have to put signs in your rooms telling people not to use the towels to clean your motorcycle, which I do not know why you would do that, as the towels will scratch your bike. The "jacuzzi" tubs have red algae growing on them. Toilet paper holders are about to fall off. You have to go into the gas station again if you would like to have ice. Rooms are hot, smelly and just all around looking dirty. I highly advise you not to stay here. Take the time and go a bit further into Blue Ridge and stay somewhere where it is...
