The property at Dumas, Arkansas was a pleasant surprise. While the area is very rural, access from New Orleans, Jackson, Ms. and Memphis, Tn. was quick and easy. The roads were good. Dumas seems to be a sleepy town. The property itself has been undergoing a renovation that appears almost complete. While there's no elevator to the second level, we were still pleased. With new windows, the room was quiet from road noise, the bath area completely remodeled and quite a nice change from the original layout of the room, The bed, linens and towels were fine. The provided toiletries were good too. They provided ample pillows for the king size bed, a plus!
In the morning we ate breakfast, and while not sure what to expect, we were also pleased by the small but well chosen selections of hot waffles, biscuits and sausage, cereals hot and cold, muffins, toast, yogurts along with juices and coffee or tea. The breakfast area looks to have been remodeled, taking its space from a former guest room and was nice to be away from the hotel lobby entry. It was bright, tidy and had an attentive person overseeing it.
It seems the region is a haven for nature tourists and for those visiting the National Park, Arkansas Post a few miles away. Compared to the other two hotels in town we saw, by and away, this place tops them. A great...
Read moreHorrible, 1st the bed was horrible sunk in the middle so me and my husband had to sleep on opposite sides if you didn't want to sleep in a hole. Then the day we checked out hours after we left town I got notified they charged me another charge. Not to mention they pre authorized 1 night before arriving and then when you arrive they authorize the entire amount of the stay again so you have to wait days to get your money back. When I called about the extra charge they claimed I smoked in the room which I did not smoke in the room and when I asked them to send me evidence they told me they didn't have any its just the smell. So based on a smell they will charge you so anytime you stay here I would recommend locking your card. Because the staff doesn't have enough common since to know if you smoke out side the smell will be on you when your smoking in a closed card because it is too cold to stand out side and smoke. Not to mention they don't even have anything that I signed as I did not sign any documents when I checked in. They think they are intitled to do what ever they want because they are in a small town and there aren't alot of options. It is worth driving to Pine Bluff to stay at a better hotel and not...
Read moreI was really skeptical about staying at a quality Inn, because of past experiences at similar motels, but this definitely exceeded my expectations. The rooms are newly renovated and very nice. Everything was comfortable. The person at the desk was helpful and informative as I was checking in at like 4am, he made sure I was aware of the checkout policy and breakfast hours. The only issue I had was it rained in a few hours later so I woke up to a few bugs in my room surely escaping the rain, but I'm a country girl so I know it's to be expected since the doors open up directly to outside. But over all a great, well needed, and much...
