My husband and I wanted to get away for a couple of days with our dog to the Amish country. We are very paranoid with covid and we were taking every precaution possible. This hotel is fabulous. The rooms are spotless. Every where you go is spotless. The health club was perfect. Breakfast was limited but that was expected. They're doing the best they can. Everything was wrapped which was great. I also asked for decaf coffee. A pot was brewed in 5 minutes. You can tell the staff is well trained and they care about doing a good job. Not once was an employee staring at their phone. Very unusual now a days. We were always pleasantly acknowledged. I would like to praise Jean Carlo who went out of his way to send me my receipt which I was not receiving via auto email. Very professional and eager to please. We are planning another get away next month. Definitely booking a hampton inn if one is available in the area we choose.
Highlights from our trip.
We did take out food every where. One of our favorites was Good n Plenty. Authentic Amish food. Delicious fried chicken, mashed potatoes, buttery noodles, corn, etc. Did a great job packaging everything to go. Even taped the gravy container. Not something they would do in new york. Lol
We did a day drive one day, going through a list of covered bridges using waze. We stopped after the 8th one. Beautiful scenery but after a while it got minotnis.
Also did the Julius Sturgis pretzel tour. It was ok. There's no factory on the premises so basically it's some old equipment and information.
Visiting the country kettle village. Had lunch at the harvest cafe. Delicious soup and salad. Stayed inside to eat since it was empty.
If you want to try a delicious soft pretzel go to Ammergut pretzel store.
Very nice trip during...
Read moreStayed for one night with a one year old. We didn't book a suite but received a room that had an extra little sitting area, which was perfect for putting our one year old in his pack and play to sleep (which was provided by the hotel). Very clean, quiet and comfortable room.
There's a little plaza with a couple restaurants that is super walkable- just a quick breeze through the parking lot.
Breakfast in the morning was very busy as it seemed a soccer team was staying over, so the tables were packed when we got there. An employee saw me struggling to get breakfast for our one year and carry around a high chair, and stepped in and helped me. She showed me to the empty conference room where we could eat and insisted on carrying the high chair. She checked in several times to see if she could get us anything, and ended up bringing our baby a banana. Her kindness was so refreshing and appreciated. I wish I had caught her name, but she had a long blonde ponytail- thank you for going above and beyond for us!
We had an excellent stay, but, just two suggestions to make the service extra superb: I wish that the hotel carried sheets the size of the pack and play. When we asked for a sheet, they gave us a bed sheet which we had to wrap around the pack and play mattress, which isn't sleep safe for a baby.
Secondly, I phoned the hotel ahead of time (the day before) to let them know we would be needing a pack and play. They said that they are available and to let them know when we checked in. At check in, we let them know and they brought one up, but, it would have been extra convenient if it were just already ready to go in the room seeing that we called ahead.
All in all, worth the stay! Thank you Hampton...
Read moreWe checked in on December 24th at 9:45PM and stayed for 2 nights with check-out on 12/26/2023. ||This property is an older Hampton Inn property with an attempt to facelift it many times; however, never really completely doing the job.||When we first checked in, we were in Room 303. Upon check-in, we first used the bathroom. We noted that someone else's "stuff" was in the toilet and upon use it would not flush and tried to overflow. There were also two used towels. One on the floor under the sink and another one in the shower. It quickly became clear to us that we had to move. Also, to note there are no towel hooks except one on the back of the door in 303.||We returned to the front desk and were moved to Room 339. It was the exact same room type, King Bed. This is a quiet hotel, as far as traffic noise. The front facing street is very quiet and the back side is also far enough removed from the highway that you won't hear traffic from that side either.||I will also give credit to the breakfast area, which was very clean, organized, and stocked with great options consistent with Hampton Inn.||That's where the fun ends.||Once we were in our second room, Room 339 you will note that the all bathrooms in this hotel are super tiny -- consistent with the decade of when it was built. There is no counter space in the bathroom and there is really no room to move around. ||I also note in Room 339 that the shower door does not stay shut, which causes a lot of water to escape during the shower. ||The location is super great; however, I wouldn't recommend this...
