I stayed here once before to visit my daughters with no issues. However, this time after having made reservations to arrive after midnight, the receptionist told me I was mistaken and that they had no rooms available until 3pm. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, I assumed user error on my part. My daughters and I packed up the car and checked in elsewhere for the night. Later, I returned at exactly 3pm. As my children and I walked in, I noticed the same woman from earlier smiling smugly while avoiding eye contact. She was sitting off to the side while the manager was dealing with another customer. When it was my turn to check in, the manager wasn't the slightest bit friendly or hospitable as I gave her my name. She saw a passport in my hand and immediately insisted I give her a driver's license. "you can't check in with that! you need to give me a valid driver's license!" she sneers. I explain that the passport was all I had at the moment but I did have an expired PA license (since I no longer live there) and a scan of my NC license, as well as a federal PIV card. She took the passport and inspected it as though I created it at staples or something. The cynical manager leafed through the pages, and decided it still wasn't good enough. My kids and I were denied a room and had to find a new place to spend our weekend as it grew ever shorter. The experience was humiliating as we carried our bags back to the car for the second time. To this day I have no idea why I was treated this way but they got their wish. They’ll never see us again.
edit: they never...
Read moreThe staff was very rude. The place is kinda grubby but the beds were clean. We asked for a couple extra pillows and there response was "you should have enough, how many do you really need?" And only got 2 they said come back later and well have more. Went back later and they had an attitude again about pillows and said the lady from the afternoon said we were rude when asking for pillows. I'd like to add here the pillows are only and issue because they were super small and very flat, I have a tracheotomy and need to sleep sitting up a bit and I forgot my pillows. We told them this too and they didn't care And still didn't give us any more. Id also like to add we were like one of 3 rooms filled out of like 20. Never had an issue about pillows in my life from a hotel. Most of the outlets did not work. Had almost no cable channels which would be fine if I could use my wifi on my phone or tablet to stream stuff.... WiFi was also terrible and un usable so I couldnt do any work on my laptop or tablet either. No ice or vending machines. Normally I can look past some of this but piled together it was just bad. And the whole place smelled like old cigarettes. Save your money and camp under a bridge. People would be...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I reserved a room online for 2 nights. We got the confirmation and everything so we figured everything was fine. We go to check in and they told us we had nothing booked under our name.. it was very frustrating because we drove for 12 hours with our 6 month old baby and just wanted to rest. We offered to show the confirmation and they could care less had no interest and looked at us like we had three heads. The place was booked and we drove around for hours and unfortunately ended up sleeping in our vehicle in a McDonald's parking lot that night with my 6 month old daughter. It was the most humiliating experience I've ever been through.. due to it being the weekend all cheap hotels were sold out and we could not afford anything else. You really never know what a person or family is...
