I have stayed at this hotel on several occasions, but this most recent will be my last. I felt as if I paid Hilton prices for a Motel 6 experience. During check-in my children needed to use the restroom, so I escorted them to the nearest first floor facilities where we found limited soap, very few hand towels, and dirty stalls. Not the first impression a hotel guest wants, but surely this would be taken care of by staff. It was not. At any point in our stay. Our rooms and beds were quite comfortable; however, we did not appear to have control of our own thermostat as the pre-sets would override and return our room to the set temperature. The pool was great, but it would have been nicer had the poolside been kept tidy and clean towels been readily available to guests. Since I was traveling with children, I opted for the room rate that included breakfast at the hotel to make our morning a little easier; this turned out to be a bad choice. We were greeted and showed the area of the hotel breakfast that was included in our room rate – it looked like a basic hotel breakfast, which was fine for us EXCEPT the coffee I was served was room temperature at best, the fruit selection was almost entirely rinds of watermelon and the cores of pineapple, the cereal was stale, the “hot” oatmeal was cold, and the toaster did not do its one job and toast our bread. In that same section which we were advised was for self-serve breakfasts, there were three large buffet style serving containers with a large amount of scrambled eggs, bacon, and potatoes (all of which I have commonly found included with a continental breakfast at my many hotel stays throughout the country). We were told, quite embarrassingly, that the hot items were for “made to order” breakfasts, not for us. It was further explained to me by the waitstaff that the breakfast was either continental or made to order, not both. Even though we were hugely misinformed about items included in our breakfast and the quality was by anyone’s standards subpar at best, we were unable to change our breakfast order. That didn’t make sense to me, nor did it sit right with me as a hotel guest and paying customer; I tipped our waitress well and took the children out to eat at a nearby restaurant where we actually enjoyed our food. Prior to check out the children returned to the pool for swimming where we found nothing had been cleaned from the night before including the mound of dirty towels and the downstairs restroom. When checking out, I was behind a woman who I overheard was disputing a hotel charge processing on her account, so I made sure to thoroughly check my receipt, which looked in order except my bank was showing the hotel was attempting to process a higher charge than what I authorized. The staff informed me that the additional amount might come off in a few days and if not to call back and request a refund of the amount over my bill. This sounded like a hold for incidentals, which is expected, except that at no point in my stay was I notified of the hold thus making it...
Read moreWe were here two years ago, and it was our first stay at a Hilton Garden Inn, as we are very loyal Marriott people. We loved this hotel so much that we find ourselves now staying at more Hiltons than Marriotts. Everything was so perfect, that we did not want to leave in May 2023.||This time, when we arrived, there was no "welcome back", and no bottles of water. In fact, we were there five nights, and we passed the front desk numerous times each day, and not once, did anybody raise their head (from looking down at whatever) to give us a smile or a cheery hello. Two years ago, that front desk was incredible. Everybody was so pleasant, cheerful and friendly. ||Our room was clean, comfortable and nice. We were surprised to see empty wine glasses lined up in the hallway near several rooms. We saw those glasses on Monday (5/19), and they were not removed until the evening of Thursday (5/22). ||The restaurant downstairs is really an asset. We ate breakfast and dinner twice, and the food was very well prepared, and absolutely delicious. I had the "Grilled Veggie Primavera" (pasta) dish, and it was heavenly. Seldom, do you have such delicious food served in a hotel restaurant. The chef must have graduated from the Culinary Institute of America. ||Before we made the reservation, I did call and request to speak to the manager about the bedbug review (on Tripadvisor). Just wanted a reassurance that there was not a problem. I was told to leave a voicemail, and he would call me right back. That was over two weeks ago, and never did call, and while we were there, he or she was totally invisible. We know about managers, and part of their job is to address customer concerns. Not here.||From here, we moved to the Garden Inn in Bricktown, where the front desk acknowledged us every time we walked by, we were welcomed as Honors members, and were given a shopping bag with bottles of water. However, their restaurant is not even half as good as...
Read moreHigh priced convention hotel. The not cheap breakfast restaurant experience for our two mornings straight was terrible.||Breakfast day one: The staffing was two servers and a hostess bussing tables. It was our server's second day on the job and she was worthless, or should I say completely untrained. My order was a waffle which was served only slightly warm and under cooked. The server strongly insisted that we sign a check for four with inaccurate orders listed. She clearly saw that we were just two people. I blame all of that on very poor restaurant management.||Breakfast day two: The total staffing was just one server for the entire busy restaurant and one hostess bussing tables. The server sort of insisted that we promptly sign her ticket but offered us no pen for signing. The restaurant chairs and carpets were dirty and there was very easy to see spilled food left under our table. I again blame all of that on very poor restaurant management.||We had to watch our step on the elevator because something was spilled on the floor, possibly sticky, that remained there all day. ||Our room was unremarkable except for a broken lamp fixture that we observed when we first walked in, a bathroom slider door that would barely slide and a gross looking bathtub mat. To their credit there was an adequate amount of thin T.P. The customary complementary hotel note pad and advertising pen were absent.||Finally, their little three wheeled luggage carts, have an external nut where the side wheels are attached. Those nuts can easily bang into the elevator door...
