This was my second stop while travelling with my two cats from Arizona to North Carolina. Neither my phone GPS nor car navigation could find the place, but thankfully a patient front desk person helped me find it (she explained it was a common issue people have when trying to find the place). Once I finally arrived, I was a bit surprised to see how worn out the parking lot and run down the exterior and interior of the building were. At any rate, the front desk staff was kind and helpful.||||Once I got entered my room, the first thing I noticed was that the entry door didn't shut unless I forced it. Strangely, it seemed to fit the overall quality of this location and was far from the last issue.||||It's easier to make a list of the issues:||the power went out for a few minutes (no weather issues), but thankfully not for very long||walls seem extremely thin, could smell exactly what my next door neighbors brought to their room for dinner||the free wi-fi is extremely slow, so slow that using data is much faster||there were TONS of cockroaches clinging to the walls outside the building and a few on the carpet along the hallway to my room||the bed sheet was stained red (maybe wine, maybe not??)||few nearby food options||stray cats outside wandering the parking lot at night (my cats let me know) ||exhaust vent in bathroom was not working||||There were some positives:||no pet fees, which is standard with Motel 6||the room was overall clean and quiet||the shower worked well||mini-fridge and microwave in room worked well||||Unless you have no other options, I'd recommend avoiding this location unless/until it is remodeled (outside...
Read moreI checked in on 7-30-18 at 6:00pm. At 1:00am I woke up to a strange chemical smell that was unbearable. I went to the desk at 1:15am and the clerk said she couldn’t do anything about it. She checked me out of the room and I slept in my truck. I knew I would have to pay for 7-30-18. A couple days later I saw they were still changing me for the room. I called to let them know they were changing me for a room that I had checked out of. I asked for a refund for the nights I had not been there. I was told they didn’t know why I was being charged because they had checked me out. They told me they would have the manager call me the next day when she was at work to refund the money. I never got a call back. I kept calling and finally got ahold of her on 8-6-18. She was extremely rude as soon as I told her who I was. She told me her night clerk had made her aware of the situation on 7-31-18. She said even though the night clerk had checked me out that I had to called her the next day to let her know to stop billing me. I told her I had no idea they would keep changing me after I checked out. She kept telling me it was my fault for not calling her. I work out of town and stay in motels 5 days a week including other Motel 6’s. I have NEVER been charged for a room that I have checked out of after I checked out. I will NEVER stay at the Motel 6 in Elk City again. They also have a major COCKROACH...
Read moreI called ahead to make sure y'all had a room available, i forgot the young ladys name, but she was very polite, professional, and her level of courtesy was refreshing to say the least! She gave me a great rate, I'm a blue collar small business owner, & i really do appreciate y'all keeping yer rates very competitive, nice to get a break once in a while! As far as front clerks are concerned ... In this day & age of rude, disrespectful, bored, indifferent, unprofessional, and down right hateful with a twist of reverse racism as the "new norm" (yes 2 different motel 6 locations in north central texas) your Elk City, OK. front desk clerk was a breath of fresh air. I believe she is the kind of front clerk that y'all should pay to teach the "haters" how to treat your "paying customers" ... thanks for hiring her. Also you have an Excellent location, plenty of parking, where i can keep an eye on my work truck from window. No complaints about the room. No complaints about the girl at the front desk either. You should give her a pay raise. & hire more people like her. My only "concern" was neither of the 2 parking lot entrances were locked, even late at night when i went to taco bell. The lock on the door frame at the end was completely missing, the middle door just pulled open without having to use my room key. Kinda hard to keep out the Riff-Raff that way...
