Where to begin? The front desk staff was the highlight of this trip. The front desk staff were polite, and very helpful. The rooms are dated (Nice way to say gross). I had to have my room changed because the first room they put me in didn’t have a refrigerator. From reading reviews this is an issue that comes up a lot. Seems like they could get it together. The room I was moved to wasn’t clean! Housekeeping is very lacking even in the common areas. The shower had a gross bench in it made of 2X4’s. That’s right a homemade bench made of construction lumber! After working all day and returning to my room on Tuesday I find a do not disturb sign on the door and the room not cleaned. I went to the front desk to get to ask what happened. I asked why someone would put a do not disturb sign on my room and not clean it. I was promised that she would investigate it. Needless to say, I’m glad that any valuables I had went with me in my backpack. I return from working all day on Wednesday and find my bed made like a 4-year-old did it and none of the trash cans dumped for the 3rd day. To put a cherry on top whoever “made” the bed left me a handful of peanuts on the bathroom counter! That’s right a free handful of roasted peanuts right on the bathroom counter. The person who left me the peanuts also turned off the AC unit so there is that. Housekeeping is very lacking I can overlook almost anything except nonexistent houskeeping. Overall, I would suggest that you choose another Hotel. There are several much newer nicer hotels in town, try one of those. I’ve stayed at Holiday Inn’s and Holiday Inn express hotels weekly exclusively for years and haven’t been this...
Read moreThere were some good moments from our stay. The overnight staff on Saturday night to Sunday morning was great. The woman staffing breakfast was outstanding. These two staff are the reasons this hotel got any stars...
This hotel had many issues:
The hotel checked one of the individuals in our party out of their room while he was at breakfast, before 8 am, then told him they called him all day and he had no missed calls on his phone.
The lifeguard staffing the pool sat on her phone the entire time we were at the pool. In fact one of the kids in our group injured his foot and she didn't even notice.
Billing was a mess. I had reservations and my mom had separate reservations. Prior to getting to the hotel I called to learn someone switched both rooms to my mom's name. I called the next day to make sure the reservations were corrected and they were all in my name. I asked for the rooms to be corrected again... When we showed up at the hotel both rooms were under one name, they put a 300 plus dollar deposit on my prepaid room... And even after leaving the hotel my bill situation had still not been corrected.
One guest had several hundred dollars in her purse, and the staff picked it up and returned it to the guest and forty dollars were missing from the purse.
One guest in our party had to get new sheets for the bed, she placed them on the bed and the housekeeping staff only threw the comforter over the bed and did not put the new sheets on the bed.
I approached the front desk on several occasions and there was not a staff member in sight leaving me to wait...
Read moreWe came to town for a special event and this is our go-to hotel. We are always comfortable there. If you plan to arrive for an early check-in, the hotel will make a special effort to have your room ready. The big attraction here is the huge indoor water park, with pool, a kiddie pool, a spa, and a huge waterslide. Children must meet size requirements. The good news is that the adults can play here as well. Wristbands are offered at check-in; one per guest, and access is with your room keycard. Specific hours are observed for the waterslide and a life guard is on duty at those times. See the website, if this is of interest to you. If you are a Rewards card member, there is closer-in parking, but if not, the lot is quite large. There are interior corridors with an elevator. Rooms come with an adequate supply of towels (these are not to be used at the pool area, which has it's own supply), and enough space for one's luggage. They are quite comfortable. There is a restaurant off-premises and within waling distance. See separate review. The rooms have free WiFi with a password, which works OK. The A/C is quiet and it works well. And if you need a snack, the front desk has a small 'pantry' area. This is a family oriented hotel. The water park draws children. That means that there are many little ones around who can be quite loud. The room was quiet overnight, but the Breakfast Area was crowded and quite loud. The same standard HIE...
