This was my first time here (my husband has been here a few times) and you definitely get your money worth. We chose the cheese balls for appetizer and they were delicious. They had a great pull to them. The ranch was a little thin but it was still good. I had the brisket dinner and my husband had the pulled pork dinner. You get your choice of potato, so I had the loaded baked potato and my husband got the parmesan garlic mashed. They also came with baked beans, coleslaw, and cornbread. The baked beans were cold. The bbq sauce was pretty good. The coleslaw was very good and creamy, the cornbread was sweet. The baked potato comes with butter and sour cream on the side but comes with cheese, bacon, and onions on it. The brisket was absolutely phenomenal. It was thin sliced (which you don't see often) and crisped around the edges so it's like getting burnt ends with every bite. The pulled pork was moist and very flavorful. The service was good. The waitress was very attentive and friendly. I definitely recommend coming here if you're looking to get miserable on good food.

The Grainery is a café at Stone's Truck Stop. It's located in an area with several hotels, so it's convenient and it is easy-off easy-on I-29. Usually truck stops are known and loved for their hearty home-cooked style meals. Not so much here. We came for dinner and the restaurant seemed empty. There was a large group in a back room and that seemed to need the attention of all the wait staff. We were seated and then promptly forgotten. It took a very long time to even be given menus, another wait to order, and then a wait so long to be served, that we thought we had truly been forgotten. The food was marginal, it was OK, but nothing special. The wait staff was the problem. And they were clearly uninterested in anyone who was not part of this group. A huge disappointment. Make another choice.

The pulled pork dinner is both generous and tasty. I like my pulled pork on the dry side - so this was perfect for my taste. If you like yours juicy, you should consider another item on their diverse menu. The BBQ sauce was as good as the pork. I got it with a baked potato - with the cornbread, beans, and slaw, it was too much to put away. I also got a glass of iced tea. It was fresh brewed and served in a large jar. I was thirsty, so that went down nicely. Service is friendly. Note this is not a fast food joint, so only eat here if you’re not in a hurry. I’ll be sure to stop in again whenever I pass through Watertown.

Well, maybe Northerners just don't know what good food really is? I'm not sure how this place is rated so highly. I had a great experience gaming in the casino and the bartender in the pub was very attentive, so the actual truck stop, gaming, and pub experience, I would rate 4 stars. The cafe however was the worst $44 I've ever spent dining out, and I'm 280lbs and 43 years old, so I've eaten out at PLENTY of places. Here's why the restaurant is 1 star:

I ordered the hamburger steak. It was very literally only a hamburger patty atop a lettuce leaf that was garnished with 3 raw rings of white onion...no gravy. Blasphemy. The waitress asked how the food was, and I told her that's not the hamburger steak I'm used to, to which she just said, "it's bigger than a hamburger", and that was that. No further customer service on the issue.

The side salad was again VERY LITERALLY just lettuce. No tomatoes, no cheese, no egg, no croutons, no onion... lettuce and ranch. I can say the ranch was 4 stars. After I inquired about the rest of the salad, I was told that's all that comes on the "salad", so I paid $5.25 to upgrade to the salad bar.

The mashed potatoes served with the "hamburger steak" were obviously instant potatoes.

The Texas toast was phenomenal though. Buttered and toasted to perfection.

The sweet tea was also excellent.

After spending $12.25 for a hamburger patty, instant potatoes, a slice of toast, and three raw onion rings, is it any wonder I gave it 1 star?

My girlfriend got the cowboy burger and tater tots. The tater tots were actually just disc shaped hash browns, and she said the burger itself was a 6 out of 10.

I was so very disappointed in this restaurant. I'd actually been thinking of moving to Watertown after passing through a few times. If I do move, I most certainly won't find myself seated in the restaurant ever again.

I know it's a restaurant and it has to make money, but leaving, I was under the impression that the cook is a teenage boy, and the ingredients make up about 20% of the food cost.

If that's what folks call a salad or a hamburger steak around these parts, they should banish the terms from their...

Ordered a rare steak. Steak comes to me done, ask if it can be remade the old lady brings me back a steak that is literally ice cold on the inside. Than shes rude about it and tell her just charge me for the eggs and the hashbrowns after the same steak i cut in and we all touched bc it was ice cold. Than she has the balls to tell another waitress if you see him again call the cops. How about you get the steak right the first time, or dont bring your CUSTOMER a ice cold steak that was on the grill for less than a minute. The old lady is rude and shouldnt even be working customer service to begin with. I eat here all the time never once had an issue but if you do than im the problem? Hire a cook who can cook a steak and not serve your PAYING CUSTOMER A ICE COLD STEAK! SAME GOES FOR THE OLD WAITRESS, IF YOU CANT HANDLE A CUSTOMER SENDING BACK A STEAK BC THE COOK IS WORTHLESS MORE THAN ONCE DONT GET RUDE WITH YOUR PAYING CUSTOMER. TALK TO YOUR WORTHLESS COOK! WONT EVER SPEND A DIME IN THAT DUMP OR THE...
